Was lucky to be involved in the recent exhibition RECONNECTIONS by residents of Newport Residential Home - who explored the themes of reconnecting to oneself and the environment. Some truly outstanding works of art and incredible stories. The exhibition was on at the PPUG gallery, 33 High Street, Newport. At PPUG you can also find out about all the other FREE activities that are coordinated and developed by the Independent Arts

I had a poor experience at one of Independent Arts Anxiety Cafe evening sessions. A total of five people had joined the session. The leader and one member proceeded to monopolise most of the conversation, excluding the three remaining people including myself for the majority of the session. I did have an opportunity to speak at one point, and I tried to talk about something that had been affecting me. Unfortunately, I discovered how quickly the leadership were to pass judgment on my experience, in such a way that I realised that Anxiety Cafe would not be a safe space for me.
