My EV has been with Inchcape Exeter for 6 weeks during which a service was carried out, and a recall battery issue was addressed. However, a day or so after collection an amber warning light appeared with notification that the electric motor was not functioning properly - return to workshop for inspection. I live 30 miles away from Exeter and depend upon reliable and robust service. My feeling is that this VW centre has failed me in all respects.

We phoned Inchcape VW Exeter to discuss our pricing and requirements before travelling to view a used Passat. We explained that we would have to travel 2 hours each way to get there and arrange childcare for our newborn in order to test drive the car, so didn't want to waste ours or their time if there wasn't a possibility of meeting our budget. Not only were we given a valuation for our part ex on the phone (which we always take with a pinch of salt as we're aware it depends upon viewing the vehicle) which it transpires was £1,000 over what Inchcape were actually willing to pay and £800 less than what was offered by a previous dealership, but we also weren't at any point notified of the fact that Inchcape do not budge on the prices of their used vehicles under any circumstances. We therefore wasted 5 hours travelling and test driving the car only to be told there was no way of even attempting to meet our budget, during which time our baby had to be looked after by someone else and adding more miles to our part ex vehicle. We are left feeling completely misled and disappointed. As a consequence we would never approach an Inchcape dealership in the future and would also actively discourage others from doing so.
