[Waitress here is not well trained and lack of basic respect to customer. ]I speak proper English and nobody ever have any difficulties understanding me. However when I told the waitress here my gf is allergic to mango, she kept asking me what is ‘mango’ I thought she might prefer Cantonese or mandarin, so I explained in all languages. Surprisingly, it seemed that she understood English very well and the reason she doing so is to mock my accent. Unbelievable!

Went to Imperial last night, I was absolutely shocked at the poor service. It's like my 10th time coming and it has been a while since my last visit. I planned a dinner with friends because I wanna showcase what I think is one of the best and authentic Chinese restaurant in London. But the food came in weird orders, we finished 3 main dishes before the rice even came. The staffs were much less professional than the old ones. Our sitting was at 6pm, and we were told we only have 15 mins left for the table at 7:45, when we still have loads of food on the table, I felt embarrassed because I wanted my friends to have a decent experience but we felt like they wanted to kick us out before we could even finish (they could have warned us when we first sat down). Don't get me wrong, the food is still very delicious (especially Peking duck which we ordered 2x last night), but the service is appalling and I don't think I would ever want to come again.

Exceptional quality of food and service is very good.... But a little too excessive on attentive. Allow me to elaborate on my experience. Birthday lunch cost £250 for 3 items, Beijing Duck, salted fish and aubergine clay pot and waygu beef with enoki mushrooms. Beijing duck comes very very very close to original home flavour. Credit to the chef! Duck is sliced and served in front of us, the remaining duck is cooked into a soup. Soup is flavourful, rich and silky but the duck is cut up badly so trying to eat the remaining meat is quite difficult. Now as we are drinking the soup and attempting to eat the duck meat from the Beijing duck carcass, bones will appear as each time you finish one piece in short intervals. The poor server kept changing our plate which is courteous of him but slightly excessive. I understand if its in a western Michelin rated restaurant, it isn't too bad but as Chinese people eat from bones, it's too much. Salted fish and aubergine is exceptional and even the minced meat with the diced shitaki mushrooms are in uniformed shape, very good knife skills. Wagyu with enoki mushroom was very tasty but only came in 4 bite sized serving so that is £15 per bite. Thin sliced wagyu wrapped around enoki mushrooms, now the beef will melt in your mouth but only thing for me, trying to take small bites is hard as the enoki mushrooms are stringy in texture but the beef is "melty" in texture, you either eat it in one bite or bite into it, and you gnaw on the mushrooms to break it into two or you pull all the mushrooms into the first bite and leaving just the thin beef for the final bite. All in all, everything in terms of taste, presentation is excellent, just some things didn't quite make sense in terms of how it's eaten. Only thing I cannot give it 5 stars "I don't love it" as it is too expensive in my opinion. It is a place for experience or you are excessively wealthy. If I have an annual income of 250k, lunch for £250 is a good price.
