A horrible experience. Nice venue and well kept, the price sure reflects that. As you can imagine we were expecting a very nice lunch. Food was extremely expensive and horrendous. I have never had bland, poorly cooked food like this before. Cheap and nasty cuts of meat and poorly put together with absolutely no flavour. Very disappointed. Please don’t eat here

Gone downhill, I won't be back. Uncreative menu, unfriendly, forgetful staff, so we ended up with one person not getting any food. Terrible.

Really disappointed and it wasn’t cheap (£35 for a starter, main & soft drink without a tip). Prawn toast was small & takeaway quality rather than anything I’ve experienced in a restaurant before. Sweet & sour was so vinegary I couldn’t eat it. 2 stars as the portions were good if you did want to eat it. Another problem was the waitress not understanding English / not being quite with it - we asked for additional menus 4 times & eventually took them from other tables ourselves. Many tables were empty on Saturday evening and we can now see why. With so many places to choose from in Chinatown, I won’t go there again.

As a Hong Konger, I can be picky with my dim sum. We checked out Imperial China as a family after it was recommended by a fellow Hong Konger and can happily say that out of the 7 dim sum restaurants in Chinatown, this is now easily our favourite. The food is authentic and tasty (eg. they don't cut corners on certain classic dishes like other restaurants), the service is terrific (probably the best out of all the ones we've tried), family-friendly (booster seats for toddlers), and a really good (classier) ambience that is never too loud because the tables are spaced apart a bit more (at some other popular restaurants we sometimes need to shout to be heard by our friends as it gets crowded). Prices are a tad bit more expensive here but I think it absolutely reflects the quality of the experience you're getting (and aso means you don't get stuck in super long queues as people flock to the cheapest options elsewhere). To feed 2 adults and a toddler, our bill came up to £60 so honestly not bad. The one drawback here, personally, is the range of dim sum, which is slightly more narrow than other places in Chinatown. They serve most of the mainstream dishes but wouldn't have things like tripe that is served elsewhere. Overall, an easy favourite for everyone in the family. There's also a little fishpond and a bridge and plants so great for keeping young children occupied if they ever get too restless. All around 5 stars and will definitely be returning soon.
