Everyone was so helpful and supportive, especially Katie and Paul. We had a few bumps along the way as most people do, but Katie kept in touch with us all the way through. She was always happy to help with any queries, and we never had to chase her she was very aware of what we needed at every step of the process and liased so well with everyone else involved. We went with the recommended solicitors and mortgage advisor, it was definitely worth it. They all communicated really well to get our move finalised.

I don't know, maybe it was just me. I found the people there very cold. Maybe I was expecting a warm welcome. By the way, nice office well presented and located.

This is really disappointing having to leave such a low star review as the start of this process was really good and if it continued that way it would of definitely been a 5star review. The reason I say this is that initial contact with the estate agent Dean was great, he was fantastic, on the ball, polite, knowledgable, efficient, knew his stuff and seemed to genuinely care that we were making the right purchase. I couldn’t say enough about how great Dean is. Imagine are lucky to have such a great employee. Secondly, once this purchase moved to the next phase it was then passed onto the sales progressor, which started off good but when we decided to get a survey done of the property we were buying, this highlighted issues with damp and a number of other things. The sales progressor stated ‘on a property like this you would expect such things’ trying to brush them under the carpet. We then spoke to her about the condition on the windows she stated ‘the vendor does not have the time or money to do this’. Obviously, we wanted this checked out further before buying as damp can be a serious issue. So, the progressor arranged for a damp specialist to go and have a look which the report stated the scale of the work required was massive. This report stated that the scale of work required to fix the damp issue would mean the entire room including the bathroom and all of the walls would have to be removed and then put back again which would be approximately £10k. So the total of the scale of work required could of been 15k-25k. Which why any buyer in there right mind would pay for I don’t know as this is not the buyers responsibility. You would think the progressor would of read the report, but she seemed to assume that everything would be covered in the quote. Trying to explain to the progress that the scale of the work was a lot and costly, didn’t get through to her unfortunately and even though the report stated just for the damp work excluding the removals & refitted it would be (£10k ex vat) she seemed to think that it would be acceptable to start negotiations off at -£5k. Speaking with the vendor then trying to explain that wouldn’t cut it, he agreed to go down to -£15k The report clearly was not read by the progressor as even after receiving it speaking to her on the phone she said did the offer of £15k not cover it? Where I had to explain that no because a builder/contractor would be required to take remove everything from the room and put it back again. We then wanted to see if we could find a cheaper company to carry out the work, which would benefit the seller also, but then I was told by the progressor that this would need to be done after completion. Again not understanding the scale of the work and that no one in their right minds would take that on without knowing the true cost. The process was not at all helped by the progressor and it appeared that she was attempting to pressurise us into just accepting the offer in order to benefit her own pay packet. Not on whatsoever poor service. Would not be using imagine again, even if they did all of their services for free.
