  For those prospective patients, who are looking to be assisted with chiropractic treatment, to relieve their symptoms, a glance at a couple of relatively recent "reviews" may cause one to be dissuaded from contacting our clinic. We put in parenthesis the term reviews, as two of the most recent reviews, are from people not known to the clinic at all, and thus people who have not presented to our clinic, at any time in the recent, or historic past as patients. One can only assume that they have been confused by the clinic that they may have attended, and put a review on the wrong website. In regards to the other review, one cannot make particular comments in relation to specific patient interactions. However, this clinic is regularly recommended to new patients via friends, or family who stated that they had received excellent treatment from this clinic. Consequently when a new patient, in considerable pain, is recommended by friends and family, who have had successful resolutions, to their conditions, there is a heightened expectation, that the clinic will be able to relieve their pain similarly. However, in certain cases, for multiple reasons, the clinic is not able to treat every patient, to that patient's satisfaction, in regards to their pain relief. When this is the case, we take considerable time to explain why we cannot treat the patient, at that time, and advise how they may be assisted by other clinicians. In addition, on occasion, patients who are desperate for relief do not accept that chiropractic care may not be of benefit to them at that time. Often times, when we feel that we are not able to assist a patient, and thus not able to treat them, we will not charge them for the appointment, even though we may have taken considerable time in discussion with a patient. We understand the immense disappointment that a patient would feel, if they had hoped that a chiropractor would be the solution to their problem, and how difficult it is to comprehend that a clinician cannot help them for particular overriding reasons. However, it is incumbent on chiropractors to do the best for their patient, even if that is not the opinion of the patient. However, when a patient has presented to the chiropractor based on their knowledge and experience, and often due to the positive outcome the chiropractor has affected on friends and relatives, it is often emotionally distressing to be informed that the chiropractor cannot assist them at this time. The chiropractor understands how frustrating this would be for any patient. However, the chiropractor must be directed by what he knows he can and cannot do, to effect positive outcomes for the patient. Chiropractors are highly trained musculoskeletal professionals, who successfully treat thousands of patients a year. However, there are occasions when the patient's presentation is not conducive to being appropriately receptive to treatment. On those rare occasions patients are informed of the situation and treatment is offered when their status resolves. We readily understand that patients in pain can be desirous of miracles from a chiropractor. But sadly all we can do, is use our professional training and years of experience, to offer the most considered care and attention, to each and every patient who presents to our clinic. Finally, if a patient does not wish to accept our opinion, that is their prerogative. But it does not make that opinion invalid, and it should not necessitate multiplicities of communications attempting to force the chiropractor to treat them, against his better judgment, or to resort to a negative unfounded accusations and reviews because the outcome desired by the patient was not what they had hoped for. Sometimes it is important for us to look at ourselves, and to see how we can help our own situation, and not to blame others, when solutions to our problems cannot be found, at any particular moment.

  Short appointments, never close to 20 minutes. does the same area mutliple times and ignores your requests usually, comes across as rather rude due to this.

  After spending years(about 21) as the doctors told me my spine was damaged for life. I started with the most painful siatica imaginable. I phoned John at Ilkley Ciropractic looking for help. He was kind enough to get me in for an hour assessment that same day ( to my relief). He started working his magic that day. By 2 to 3 weeks of treatment, my back was straight and siatica gone. I keep going once a month now just to keep things loose and free, but I’m over the moon with the results. Well worth it. Thank you John.

  After experiencing really painful lower back issues and looking on Google for local chiropractors I decided to contact John as he seemed to have really good feedback from his clients. My initial consultation was thorough, professional and John made sure I was aware of my underlying back issues and happy with his prognosis and treatment plan. I have been seeing John for well over 12 months now and apart from a relapse (my fault for lifting too much!!) I have had no issues at all with my back. John is always courteous and professional. My treatment is now proactive rather than reactive led by myself in consultation with John. I remain totally happy seeing John and will continue to do so.

  I tried my best to explain to this man that all my right side organs were stretched and swollen due to mesh complications and made worse from a previous Chiropractor. I also showed him the exact spot the chiropractor tried to relax that made it worse. He refused to listen, called me anxious and adjusted the exact area of my body even when I told him that it was holding my organs together. Since then my core is stretched in organs have collapsed more. My body cannot hold. My organs have continued to drop and I have been hospitalised. He needs to talk to people who suffer with mesh complications which may make him more understanding and less dismissive of people. If only you knew what damage you have caused. He could have readjusted it if he wanted to but refused to and walked out on me because o asked questions about my Own body that I know better then him. This has left me with with now severe problems on both sides.

  After hurting my back, I decided I needed to see a chiropractor. I found John on the internet and at 3pm Friday afternoon, I called him. He booked me in straight away and I saw him that same evening. John has been very helpful for me and my back issues. I feel so much better after a visit to him now. He is pleasant and very professional. I have now recommended my father to visit John and he in turn has also recommended John to his friend too. My father’s condition for over 3 years is becoming a lot more manageable now thanks to John.

  John initially treated my back which at the time was giving me enormous pain and discomfort. After a few sessions with John the problem was resolved. I now go to see John regulary to ease the pain on my knee, which normally after a session with John, the pain is relieved. Unfortunately the long term solution to my knee is surgery but without John the wait for surgery would be unbearable. John is the utmost professional, he has many years of experience and his advice is always worth listening to. This along with being a gentleman makes the visits to see him a pleasure. Shame about the football team he follows! :-)
