The Asian manager...He is really unfriendly and rude to Asian customers but really nice to white people. Never come back.

SUBLIME Japanese food, delicate, tasty, the best I've had in London. Ikeda has been in business since 1978 and isn't trying to be innovative; but what it does it does well. Very fresh sushi, superb grilled eel, a large offering of saké, each at the required temperature; and first-rate genmacha. All very classic and satisfying. The atmosphere is very much like Tokyo: small, understated, a counter and tables in an enfilade of rooms, superb service. The prices are high, but worth it: if you are watching the pennies, pass on the desserts and on the good but overpriced French wine.

Exquisite. That's the only word I can use to describe Ikeda. Since our first visit in October 2021, this has become my favourite Japanese restaurant in London. From the family and very Japanese feel, waitresses in kimonos and don't speak too fast so they understand you, to the quaintness of the restaurant (seats about 20) in a fantastic location on Brook Street walkable from Bond Street and Oxford Circuit tube, to the freshest fish I have tasted outside of Billingsgate Market. The Kobe beef steak was sublime and literally melted in the mouth. We couldn't wait to get stuck in this second visit so I only have a picture of the Kobe but will add more pictures as we visit again. Seriously, do you yourself a favour and visit Ikeda. There is only one Japanese restaurant that has the chances of beating this one in London, review to come as soon as I can get a table there.
