Visited with a friend for a late lunch. I saw the reviews about the lovely dessert pies and thought I just had to try. Ordered: chai latte, meat hashbrown stack, and the banana cream pie. 1. Chai latte: not bad. I'm not sure if they just use the chai flavoured syrups like a lot of the other cafes do, but this ones' very frothy and doesnt feel too sweet. 2. meat hash brown stack: okay. the hashbrown wasn't exactly what I hoped for. The hashbrown was made from short strips of potatoe and fried/pan fried until crunchy. These were definitely crunchy and not as chewy. the sausage was normal, and the bacon was cooked quite nicely. The poached egg was overdone as the yolk was not runny at all. 3. pie: nice. only a thin layer of banana at the base of the pie. The filling was a tiny bit too sweet to eat on its own, but with a tea or coffee, its perfect. Price was good and taste was decent. Would I purposely come back again? probably not but if I was nearby and looking for a cafe with cakes - then yes.
