I was very disappointed with the service I received from Ian Macklin. I am a first time buyer and had my heart set on an apartment they had advertised. I called up to put my offer forward which was over the asking price to which they said was a "very strong offer". A few days later I called back for an update and said I would like to increase my offer to which they replied "I had a strong offer, and there was no need to increase it at this stage as it would be going to best and final". Looking back it seems a bit strange that an Estate agent would discourage a potential buyer from increasing an offer, which makes me believe they already had someone in mind for the apartment. A few days later I looked at the apartment again on Rightmove where it said the flat had been STC! No communication was given to me before or after this which is very disappointing. As a buyer I would avoid this estate agents as the communication and advice is very poor. And as a seller I would not use a company that discourages people putting forward potentially higher offers.

Really poor customer service. No idea why they gave me attitude on the phone when I questioned why they needed my friend's address to view a property for sale. Carol gave me attitude and a poor tone of voice, and Robert the manager kept interrupting me when I was talking! Shame, because I've viewed properties for myself and they seemed alright then, but they were so rude on the phone this time that I am utterly shocked and disappointed!
