I wanted a fun horsey experience in London while visiting from the U.S. I had an absolutely beautiful and fun ride with Hyde Park Stables. Ryan was an excellent guide and trainer! They were very accommodating and we had an amazing scenic ride through Hyde Park! Very much recommend.

Beautiful horses and such a fun experience to ride through Hyde Park! Excellent staff, very friendly, easy to book our ride. The ride however was a bit disappointing as we were kept on a lead with our guide for the duration. Went on a trot twice but were so close to each other that it was a bit difficult to get into a rhythm. Both myself and my sister lacking room for our legs with the other horse so close. Completely understand the need to assess capabilities, but when on a lead from the ground and from the guide it was not clear we were also expected to be navigating our horses. A bit more clarity in the expectations for demonstrating competency would have resulted in a much better experience. I have owned several horses, grew up taking riding lessons and competed with my horses through university. Overall, definitely recommend this stable, but if you are an experienced rider, I would suggest asking what you can do to demonstrate your ability to ensure the best experience.

Great horses! Responsive and obviously well trained as you’d expect. Hyde Park is also a beautiful place for a ride and the guides/instructors are obviously knowledgeable. We were really disappointed to be kept on the lead rope for the duration of the ride. I appreciate they have to assess rider ability conservatively, and many people are going to oversell their abilities. However, my sister and I both grew up taking weekly riding lessons and have personally owned several horses. We would have had no issue at all competently riding off lead through the park. The only thing we could pinpoint as to why we didn’t ‘pass the test’ to ride on our own is we didn’t realize we were expected to demonstrate riding abilities while someone was leading us both on the ground and while on the lead with our guide. Our reins were loose at the very beginning, BECAUSE SOMEONE WAS LEADING OUR HORSES. Once in the park I could also see the guide’s lead rope was pulling my horse’s head towards her, so I was hesitant to use too much rein. We spent the hour ride in a tiny cluster with our leader, and I was constantly trying to guide my horse to the side so that my leg wasn’t pinched between my horse and our guide’s. However, the lead was short so I couldn’t move to the side too much. I highly recommend this stable. But if you are an experienced rider, be aware they may not be very clear as to how they are assessing your riding ability. At the end of the day, we were horseback riding through Hyde Park in London on beautiful horses with a very good guide, but it was really, really disappointing to have to be crammed in next to our guide on lead ropes for the whole ride.

My husband and I had a lovely 1 hour ride with Irina. She was easy to talk to and gave us some instruction along the way. We had a leisurely walk through the park and down some quiet streets. The hour went by so quickly! Highly recommend!

What was the best part about my trip to London? Riding with Hyde Park Stables. My sister and I are relatively new western riders. We've got walk, trot, and are learning canter. We happened to come across Hyde Park Stables when doing some research for our trip and immediately decided it was a must! We chose to do both the ride through the park and a lesson with our instructor Ryan. This was my first time EVER in an English saddle and oh man is it different! Ryan was great though! He let us try to trot while on lead ropes but was perfectly fine when I elected to stay at a walk as I was having difficulty adjusting to the smaller saddle. We had an amazing ride through Hyde Park with Charlie and Boris, and Ryan's horse Lemon. He was so knowledgeable and just an all around wonderful person to speak with and enjoy our favorite past time together. While Ryan is an excellent instructor, really knows his stuff and is able to translate it well so that we could understand, he may be a bit sadistic 😂 the exercises he had us do during our arena lesson had my legs ACHING for DAYS! But if that's not the sign of a good lesson I don't know what is. Ryan was happy to take our "western style" and help us adapt to the more advanced style of English riding. Definitely not there after one lesson but now I know exactly what to work on to get myself there! His tips and tricks, exercises, and guidance throughout the lesson were so incredible and never once did he make us feel inferior due to our western experience. I could go on for days about how much fun and how much we both learned during our time with Ryan. Best experience regardless of your riding history! The instructors and handlers at Hyde Park Stables made sure we were comfortable, safe, learned something, and of course had a fun time!
