They’re fine for basic bookkeeping, but don’t rely on them for anything more. Their terrible tax advice led to me owing HMRC thousands down the line. They are far more interested in lining their own pockets than looking out for their clients. If you are looking for competent unbiased advice, I’m afraid you won’t find it here. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE Edit after HWB's response: Funny as I remember extensive bookkeeping assistance during the time we engaged your firm and indeed your own website lists 'bookkeeping advice and support' as a service. The advice I am referring to is the extensive promotion and encouragement to use the contractor loans scheme - promoted heavily by your firm and specifically Alan Williams. This scheme was promoted as HMRC approved and an excellent tax planning mechanism, although HMRC have since disagreed and it has cost many thousands. Clients were left to foot the bill whilst HWB have offered no apology or attempt to assist, but were of course happy to collect large fees at the time for their 'advice and support'. They are a dishonest firm, that will look out for their own interests above those of the client. Again I urge anyone interested in any tax advice, estate planning advice or who would prefer to work with honest accountants, to look elsewhere.
