Awful awful school one star is too much tbh. When my children first joined they were happy but within a year all the decent staff had left - both my children were severely bullied (my eldest is still having counselling) the school did absolutely nothing and really didn’t care. There is no discipline kids run riot. We were sold a complete pack of lies. Communication is appalling all they are interested in is getting money not educating and creating happy children. Avoid!!

Hurst Lodge has given our son confidence that he is able to access the curriculum and gives him the appropriate support to succeed. The staff are passionate about their pupils. They have been great about sharing moments of magic and progress they see within our son - his good behaviours and achievements. They also know the importance of getting the parents involved, and do it in a very respectful, and approachable manner. We are extremely grateful and hopeful that our son is thriving and flourishing at Hurst Lodge. Our son loves going to school, comes home with a delightful mix of exhilaration and exhaustion. From our first meeting with the Headteacher and school tour through to now, Hurst Lodge has underpromised and over delivered - how lovely! Hurst Lodge - the hidden gem that’s perfect for our son.

A refreshing and positive education environment. Hurst Lodge is unique school that puts the child at the heart of the experience. The headmistress and her team take great care to treat every child as an individual with their own voice. Proof that not every school needs to be a hothouse envirnment for their child to strive and grow. Recommended.

When it comes to independent schools, good intentions are just not good enough. After so many fundamental failures, we try to remain optimistic in our view that it was simple business mismanagement that saw two dramatic events which turned the lives of so many families upside down; the effects of these will be felt and remembered for years to come. Take great care and be sure what you’re getting into if you join this school

Our experience with the main school was very brief but I think they definitely had the right intentions and approach. There aren't many independent schools of this kind in the UK and especially in the area. I really hope they manage to reopen at some point soon. Children with mild to moderate SEN really need schools like this one! We didn't choose it for our child in the end, only because we felt they were not quite established at that point yet. One mention though - our child went to their nursery in the past and the experience was truly awful! A word of advice for the owner - if you ever reopen, please look closely at how the nursery is operated. Good luck.
