Large collection of scrimshaw work, and whaling memorabilia from the days when Hull was one of the world's major wailing ports. There are some fantastic ships models, and the silver cod trophy which was awarded every year to the ship with the largest catch. 1 one of the most popular items on display amongst children is the polar bear which was brought back on a ship on a whaling expedition.

(Translated by Google) Nice museum in the middle of the city. The exhibition is dedicated to the history of the nearby harbor and shows many models from earlier times. Impressive are the depicted whalers scenes. The building itself is also beautiful with its painted ceilings. It is not a museum where you spend many hours, but certainly interesting.

Really enjoyed it, and more importantly, so did the kids. Educational, and something about local maritime history. The staff are friendly and there was a quiz to complete as we walked around which allowed the kids to take note of the exhibits by looking for certain things about them. Really good.
