Had to visit here as my partner sliced her finger with a serrated bread knife. The staff are amazing, friendly, patient and caring. They are quick and efficient and the part of the hospital we visited was exceptionally clean and tidy. Given the reason we were here, it was still a very good visit.

At 4am went to A&E, 4 hours before seeing a doctor. Appalling waiting room.

Been here twice and both times were awful. First time was with my 3 DAY OLD baby who had suspected sepsis, we were left waiting about 6 hours before being seen. Once we were finally seen we were sent straight upstairs and had to stay in hospital for 4 nights because he was seriously ill. Yesterday I was in with my 7 month old who had swallowed something possibly toxic, referred in by 111. After 4 hours without even being seen by triage, I asked the receptionist if she knew how long it would be and she couldn’t even find our name on the list so I’m almost certain she’d forgotten we were there, and she said we’re next to be seen. 45 minutes later we still hadn’t been seen. I asked again and got shrugged off, I’ve never met a more rude or dismissive receptionist. I told her that I was going to take my son home and if he gets sick over night I’ll call an ambulance or take him in and she didn’t respond. So we got home and 2 hours later we got a rude phone call from a nurse asking why we had taken him home without telling anyone, even though we had told reception. In the whole time I was there, nothing in the waiting rooms was cleaned. There were kids being sick, clearly very ill and not even a packet of wipes to clean the seats. The kids waiting room joins onto the triage room and all we could hear in between patients was the nurse and support worker chatting and laughing away about their weekend plans and how they like their coffee, which just made the waiting even worse. All round very badly managed place with a horribly rude receptionist.

My 9 month old granddaughter is at Harrogate A&E with high temperature over 39 degrees, it has been nearly 4 hours and no one has seen to her yet; it is a disgrace.

Dreadful. Like a scene from MASH , Some very poorly people clearly needing urgent medical attention waiting 2 1/2 hours just for triage then 6 hours to see a doctor. My relative was in severe abdominal pain after a endoscopy the day before was told 2 1/2 hours to see a triage nurse , just too much in pain for her to sit in a chair for 6 hours, Will have to try again tommo via the GP and hope that she doesn`t have something life threating.

Firstly - The nurses and the Doctors were really nice so I would have given them a 5 star. They were however let down by the reception staff. We were in Yorkshire for our holiday when our 2 year old took a very quick turn for the worse. We went to a pharmacy to get more calpol who insisted we see the local doctor who then said we need to go to A&E and they will call ahead to let them know we were coming. When we arrived we were met by an extremely rude receptionist. We explained the situation and that the GP surgery have called ahead, she simply said no and told us there would be an 8 hours wait. Obviously as a parent to a sick 2 year old i didn't have a clue what was going on and this receptionist (linda) didn't help the situation at all. After asking to take a seat my son started to deteriorate , after waiting for 50 mins I went back to reception and she basically couldn't care less. Thankfully a nurse was behind the counter and come to see my son. We were taken into a side room and a doctor come to see him very quickly. He ended up staying the night for observation. Thankfully nothing too serious but had it been left to the reception staff who Obviously think they have medical experience things could have been a lot worse. Too add, I was talking to the other patient's waiting who said the same thing that there experience if thus particular person wasn't pleasant. Why work in a hospital if you can't reassure or show a little empathy especially in a stressful situation.

Truly horrific experience here last night. Was there 2 and a half hours and didnt see a single cleaner or hand sanitization station. I asked the triage nurse where covid suspects patients went and she told me same waiting room as all the rest of us!!!! The chairs in the waiting room were not 2 metres apart either. And we wonder why the virus is spreading......?!

Wonderfully kind and patient staff made my visit so much less traumatic than it could have been. Couldn't have had better care.
