  I really don’t know where to start … from the moment I made the first call I was made to feel so welcome in what was the worst moment I could have ever imagined, it was never too much trouble to answer any questions that I needed to ask, always on the end of the phone for even the littlest of things. Every visit was made special, the final visit I had with Dad will be something I can hold onto with the extra touch of the blanket being replaced with the flag 🙏🧡🖤 it brought a tear to my eye the moment I opened the door Craig explained everything thoroughly from start to finish, the work that goes on behind the scenes nobody knows but what you do is incredible! The detail and hard work really shows on that final dreaded day 🙏 Kimberley, the lady with magical hands! Never did I expect to feel as comfortable as I did going to visit Dad in the chapel of rest, but with your amazing work this was made to feel easy, being able to sit by his side in those last few weeks Dad was with us 🙏 From the bottom of my heart, thank you! Thank you for making me feel such a warm welcome, making such a hard journey that little bit easier, for caring for Dad as if he was one of your own, for giving me all the reassurance I needed but most of all thank you for such an outstanding service from start to finish 🧡🖤

  Its been a very sad time for us with arranging a funeral but wanted to share our experience about Hughes. They were amazing from start to finish, so caring and making sure everything was as it should be. They communicate constantly with you about your loved one and sorting out the details, helping you through such a difficult time and also dealing with last minute emergencies. Nothing was a drama they made this sad time easier to cope with and took the stress out of the situation. You never want to deal with this but we can honestly say they really do care and look after you and your loved one with such fine detail, we are so so pleased they were the ones we chose.

  Well what can I say, Kim and Craig have been nothing but amazing, from the very first call and all the way threw, they treated us like family not just another customer. Kim is just the best at what she does, not only did she make her look beautiful she took years off her, I can’t fault a single thing and would never go anywhere else. You both did us proud. Especially Kim she’s a complete miracle worker. Love you guys for everything you’ve done xx

  Yesterday we buried my beloved sister. This day is way up there amongst the hardest days of my life. When she passed, we initially made 3 appointments to see which funeral directors to use. Our first appointment was with Hughes, after the first meeting which lasted around an hour in the evening time (I must add.) We decided to cancel the other two appointments, we felt that the other companies would never match the level of compassion and care entwined with professionalism that this great husband and wife team delivered. Building up to the day, they continued to show support to myself, her partner and her best friend throughout the entire planning and build up stages of her big day advising us where to cut costs, reminding us of minor details we never even thought about and late night videos of Candle lighting in my sisters honour over the Christmas period. My sisters death happened so sudden as was being investigated by the police to rule out foul play, this took a total of 20 weeks towards the end we were worried about not being able to view her to say our final goodbyes, at this point they really stepped up their game and helped us resolute the issue, when we finally received her body back, the deep freeze needed to be reversed accurately as Kim warned us it may not be in the best interest for us to view. We decided to trust her word but so badly wanted to say goodbye. When she gave us the go ahead and we finally went to visit my sister you did not have to be any kind of professional to realise that Kim hard worked so so hard on the embalmment, My sister looked truly beautiful. On the day, everything ran smoothly, time and patience was given where needed but somehow everything was kept in order and within a timely manner to make sure each and every stage flowed smoothly, they gave us the opportunity to focus on our goodbyes to our loved one without worrying about the technicalities. The horse drawn carriage, the directors uniforms and the whole service was just beautiful. I want to enlighten a key moment for me, I was one of 6 to carry her coffin, upon completing the 10 metre walk which felt like 100 miles we placed down the coffin into position, it was at this point I felt broken and my eyes welled up as I took a huge breath. Craig saw this from all the way across the room, he knew I was struggling he came from the other side where he was standing, with a motivational fist bump to my chest and eye contact that spoke a thousand words gave me the strength to regain enough control to make it through to the next stage of the funeral and make my sister proud. At the wake, Craig and Kim attended as a normal member of the family, respectfully shared laughter and jokes and played some games of pool with the family and friends of My sister. Along with another member of staff (Craigs mum) who was so lovely too. I have organised at least 6 funerals - all of the funerals arranged by others have been respectable and great - I must say this. However the funeral directed by Hughes was not just a funeral, it was a piece of art to resemble my sisters life and reflected upon her great, funny sense of humour. The hand drawn masterpiece delivered by these guys will hang in my heart forever. These funeral directors, solve problems you didn't even know existed. I will never ever be able to thank both Craig & Kim enough.

  Hughes funeral directors was recommended to me by friends who had recently used their services. I've never had to arrange a funeral before let alone my partners. From the first moment I met crag and Kim I felt they were supportive, caring and understand of how I was struggling on the whole situation, they talked to me and showed me so much care and made me feel like a friend rather than a customer. I wanted to give Lisa the best send-off I could they made it possible they went above and beyond, they made it a amazing send-off . Lisa went on her last journey like a princess in a horse drawn carriage. Thank you all at Hughes your truly amazing 💛

  From the moment we met Craig and Kim, we knew these are the people we want to organise Lisa's funeral, what ever we wanted they arranged ,we wanted a good send off ,Craig went beyond our expectations with a beautiful 4 horse drawn carriage for the coffin,they sorted all the beautiful flowers,and 8 doves to release. From the drivers of the limousines to the lady with the doves the professionalism of all the staff was second to none and if that wasn't enough their prices were far more reasonable than the 2 larger funeral directors we approached ,they even came to the wake I would just like to say Craig and Kim. Thankyou from the bottom of my heart x
