Just read an article about Claire Scott discriminating against a black teacher, I would have thought we were more evolved by now - come on! Obviously some more than others. Disgraceful!

Just finished reading an article in The Times on the treatment of a teacher who happened to a black and she was assessed by 2 women Claire Scott & Stephanie Richardson. From what the article stated, it suggested that the black teacher in question did not promote 'Equality & Diversity' enough during her teaching hours & also continually within her role. Very disappointed to see that in this current climate in the UK education system this discriminatory behaviour is still ongoing. I understand that this was the only teacher/staff member from the black community who had demonstrated that she was skilled enough to do the role at HSDC. Perhaps students who are from the BAME population should do some research on this college before before thinking of applying here. If they treat black staff nemembers in this way then students who are of black or Asian descent may not get fair treatment in this hostile environment. We have family members who are looking to move in the areaa and now we are put off this college after seeing this article.
