Wouldn’t recommend. Teachers speak to you like vile, lie there way through things to make it look like you’ve done things wrong, they only care about going home at the end of the day when they should care about young adults and teenagers futures. Better off teaching yourself and all they do is sit there and show you a couple of slides off the internet. When you go and ask for help with your mental and physical health they turn you away and tell you “your fine” they don’t give you the help and support you need and then wonder why so many students drop out or don’t turn up. My tutor’s attitude towards me is vile for a starters as well as the health and well being team they don’t listen to you and only tell half the story to your parents and other members of staff. I was suggested to take a mental health day once every 2 weeks or a month and then was proceeded to be shouted at for taking a day to myself when I was told to have a day off by a health and well-being member of staff. Absolutely appalling DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE.

Rubbish college don’t send your children here. Teachers are insensitive and rude. They don’t support mental health only make it worse. You can teach yourself better on YouTube than the teachers can. They don’t teach you, you have to teach yourself. Regret going and know many students that have also and have moved to other college due to this. Hygiene standards are very low. Nearly all students skip college and teach themselves in their own time. Food is all beige that they offer. I would have put zero stars but that isn’t an option. They have no optimism for change and still continue to hire uneducated staff that have no control over the class. Tutors are rude and unhelpful. You get treated like scum. Best advice from this review is to send your child to a college where the building isn’t in the middle of a dodgy council estate.

They wouldn't test me for dyslexia because I hadn't been tested at secondary school. I managed to get into uni after only getting 1 alevel because I couldn't read properly. The uni tested me straight away, confirmed I had it and gave me all the support I needed. The stress from going to alton college not only brought my childhood epilepsy back but also gave me a condition called pcos, and for the cherry on top gave me severe depression and anxiety. Don't go here.

New teachers don't care about their students. The ones that did care have or are all leaving apart from like 2. No proper complaints system is in place, so you have to wait virtually a whole year to have a meeting in which you're just blamed and senior management say that it hasn't been an issue before even though you and other students have been complaining to teachers and senior management for the last 6+ months. Lessons seem to be watching a video because the new teachers can't be bothered to actually do their jobs. Absolutely appalling college who have ruined the university applications and career aspirations for their students.
