Stayed a few years ago and had a lovely night. Unfortunately I can’t give a review recently as I was hoping to come back and camp but although the website says open from March it’s not open until Easter. Just be aware if you’re wishing to stay soon. Hope to be back in the future.

I stayed for 4 nights by myself. It was perfectly basic, set in a beautiful location and with no need to use my car whilst there. It’s pretty much a large field with a tap, adequate toilets, 2 showers (in the lady’s) and the most beautiful sounds from the farm animals and birds! Lovely walks in various directions. Couple of pubs - about 20 mins walk along the river and then up. Will definitely be going back.

If you prioritise beautiful natural surroundings, informality, the simple life, friendliness and good value - over extensive facilities, wifi etc, then this is the campsite for you. That said, we found the toilet/shower block more than adequate and this is such a good base from which to explore the very best of the southern Dales and Nidderdale AONB. So much within striking distance for all the family and great walks straight out of the tent. We had a wonderful time even with mediocre weather. Many thanks for great holiday.

Basic campsite with very relaxed rules & fantastic scenery, cheap, no hook up, toilets & showers could do with a little modernising.. Saying that it's a working farm, owner friendly even her lab puppy, you may get a visit from a family of ducks... & midges so be prepared for that... If you want & like the relaxed countryside.. Cheap.. Then this is for you.... Oh you can pitch any size tent for same price £7.50 per night.

Stayed here 2nights and was the most relaxing and enjoyable camping experience I could hope for. The setting, management, and facilities were superb, friendly, unobtrusive, and simply perfect. There was hot water in the washrooms and toilet block, which is very basic but absolutely adequate and everything plus more of what I expected from a working farm, non-commercialised campsite. Note if you want luxury, this isn't it, but it is nonetheless wonderful. Soap and toilet paper provided, and cleaned daily. The cows and chickens were a highlight, at dusk the cows engage in chorus, and play chase with the calves across the fields. In the morning, the hens and chickens will make the round from pitch to pitch, politely eyeing the current residents and enquiring for any leftovers or scraps, such a joy having them peck crumbs right out of your hand. I would love to stay here again, and very much hope I can plan another trip in the not-too distant future. Please be advised this is not a site for party-goers or revellers, it is friendly, relaxing, fun, pleasant, clean, and enjoyable; don't ruin it and stay somewhere else if you can't be respectful of the tranquillity and natural harmony which Sue works hard to provide.
