This housing association is appalling a few weeks ago i was taking a £180 model kit out to spray paint on a small fold up table & this employee told me "Get that back inside now" in an aggressive and intimidating tone, which due to my aspergers and heightened anxiety I suffer with caused me to stutter which is an issue I have when anxious.. & when I was trying to explain what I was doing, he mimicked my stuttering as to mock me, and replied "dont care" & when i went back into to get my cans he had taken my model kit.. I have reported this issue to housing plus group and this morning I had a very unpleasant conversation with someone called Emma, who would not let me speak and used the "zero tolerance communal initiative" as a way to justify this employee's actions, not at all interested in how the person had treated me, I then mentioned we have parcels that are left outside our front doors in the communal hallway by the postman, I said you cant take those surely, she replied "we can take anything we wish from a communal area" using the "zero tolerance communal initiative" as justification saying there shouldn't be parcels left there anyway, so ultimately justifying theft by saying it's the "zero tolerance communal initiative" & not theft. I then many times tried to speak but Emma would not let me and came across as very arrogant and had no interest in what I had to say, during the conversation I got a sense that Emma was being very corporate and manipulative with a sense of absolutism & being very autocratic, the conversation ended with me having to raise my voice as Emma kept talking over me very loudly over and over, which she proceeded to end the call, and sent me this Text message, which the contents are not true in the slightest, to accuse me of being threatening is libel, & I do believe this was made to counter the allegations I had made against one of their employees, which is very unprofessional and childish. ( Mr Simmons I am happy to have a civil discussion with you about the zero tolerance communal area initiative but I will not remain on the phone whilst you shout at and threaten me. If you wish to schedule a further discussion then please send me your availability. Regards )

Unfortunately I rent an apartment from south Staffs Housing authority, with care plus as a management company these companies along with others fall under the umbrella of housing plus group. But in reality they are one and they treat their tenants like “shit” they don’t listen or treat anyone with respect. I only stay because I’m disabled and it’s not easy to find suitable rental accommodation for disabled people! But unless you have to avoid retirement, assisted living as much as possible and steer clear of shared ownership it’s a con trust me! One star is more than they deserve if there was an option for zero I would of chosen that.
