The Roman Fort itself is excellent. With a little imagination it really provides you a window into the past and the views from the Fort are also great. The museum prior to entering the Fort is a nice touch, if a smidgen small. The walk into the Fort from the car park is fairly easy with a well kept track making it easily accessible for most abilities. Having a cafe at the car park is also good for a coffee & pasty after wandering round the ruins. The only slightly questionable piece is the price. £28 for 2 adults and a 5yo seemed a little steep for something you spend less than an hour in, although I guess with the museum there are costs associated with it. Overall for me this probably gets a 4.4 rather than a 4. It's worth a visit if you have a good imagination to step back in time while wandering around the Fort.

Really nice Roman site along Hadrian’s wall. The staff, however, were unwelcoming and unfriendly. After we purchased food at their shop, they told us we couldn’t throw out the wrappers and coffee cups in their building. Why would you sell food items and not provide rubbish bins?
