FAQ

What types of materials do you accept for recycling at your center?

At our Household Recycling Centre, we accept a wide range of materials for recycling, including paper, cardboard, plastic, glass, and metal. We also accept electronic waste, such as old computers and televisions, and batteries. We have different containers for each type of material, making it easy for customers to separate their waste and recycle efficiently.

How do you ensure that the recycled materials are properly and responsibly disposed of?

We work with licensed waste carriers to ensure that all the materials we collect are recycled or disposed of responsibly. We have strict procedures in place to ensure that the materials are sorted and processed correctly, and we monitor our waste carriers to ensure that they comply with all relevant regulations and laws.

Do you offer any incentives or programs for regular recycling customers?

Yes, we do offer incentives for regular recycling customers. We have a loyalty scheme which rewards customers with points for each visit they make to our recycling center. These points can then be redeemed for discounts on our other services, such as garden waste collection or bulky waste removal.

Are there any restrictions or fees for dropping off certain items for recycling?

Yes, there are some restrictions and fees for dropping off certain items for recycling. For example, we charge a fee for the disposal of items such as asbestos, plasterboard, and tyres, as these materials require special handling and processing. We also have restrictions on the type and quantity of waste that can be accepted from commercial customers.

Can you provide information on your facility's environmental impact and sustainability efforts?

Yes, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact and promoting sustainability. We have implemented a range of measures to achieve this, including investing in renewable energy sources, such as solar panels and wind turbines, and reducing our carbon emissions through energy-efficient lighting and heating systems. We also work with local schools and community groups to promote recycling and raise awareness of environmental issues.

Pre COVID reviews also complain about the long queues to enter this tip. This is clearly a longstanding problem. They could double the throughput with some directing of traffic into the two areas for unloading waste, instead of every car going up the ramp one at a time, and a few stairs to allow loading the skips from each end. Surely it isn't impossible to fix this.
