Email sent today to house of door: ‘Hello I have found your method of business very odd. I paid half the amount due to you, when I ordered the door and fittings. You asked for the balance, twice, before I had all the items I ordered and seemed surprised that I said I’d pay when I had everything. You waited to check that I had paid, by bank transfer, when you brought the last item. Your recommended fitter arrived today and told me he wouldn’t be fitting again today. That’s the second time he’s let me down. He now says he’s coming tomorrow. But I have no faith that he will. He also asked for payment before he starts work. Please note that I have never been asked to pay someone cash, before completing work. This does not sit well with me. I will employ another fitter. It may take time, it may cost me more, but I’m not that bothered. You have made me feel that I am on some kind of blacklist, as a bad payer. I have never owed money to anyone and I find this whole experience a complete insult’ I have the door and all the fittings taking up space, in my dining room. I have yet to unwrap properly, so I can’t confirm whether or not I’m happy with any of it yet. Now, to find a decent fitter. Review edited after response from House of door: Thank you for your lengthy response. I had no issue paying a 50% deposit. But, due to failure in others, I have learnt that any outstanding payment is not paid until all items are delivered. The door could not be fitted without the storm guard. It is very commendable that your recommended fitter is looking after an elderly couple. But this was not the first time he let me down. The first time, he did give me a few days warning and I graciously agreed to change days. Today, he came to my house, at 0800 ( I was expecting him to fit the door), he told me he had an emergency and he left. We agreed a price for you to prep the door. There was never any mention of more work undertaken FREE OF CHARGE. I’m glad, that you too, would not pay for a job that has yet to be completed. Patricia Young

Very wide selection of doors of all sorts on display in the shop. I ordered seven doors and all in fitting, price and fitting date agreed. Craig informed me about progress of my order and arrived on time and day of fitting, made a nice job off fitting doors, protected my floors and tidied all wood dust and shavings. All in all, a very positive experience and im overjoyed at the fit and finish of my doors. Thankyou Craig.

I've just bought 6 Oak doors with furniture and hinges from House of Doors, they were delivered when planned with no damage and are of a very high quality. I would recommend using them for supply of a good quality product in a timely manner at a sensible cost.

Ordered all internal doors just pre Covid, delivered post-Covid. Very helpful with choice of doors and handles (without being too pushy). We arranged a carpenter to fit. (Stored flat indoors while waiting for fitting). Very happy with them so far. Look good, functional, good weight, nice finish. Thanks HoD :-)
