We came to this yard after a friend recommended it to us. Karen met us and we discussed our horses needs, nothing was too much trouble. There is all year turn out, a great arena with flood lights, large stables and a real sense of family. Karen, Chris and Stephen all go above and beyond to truly make this a fantastic place to keep your horse. George settled straight away and it just felt right! We have one happy horse, and for that we thank you x

Having owned my horse for 20 years moving yards was a very hard decision to make. A year ago we moved to Karen’s yard where we both settled in straight away. I was shocked at how well and quick my (usually anxious )horse settled. Being on full livery my horse wants for nothing and is cared for to a five star standard, leaving me feeling reassured he is happy and his needs are met. The best decision I made was moving to Hough’s and I now spend quality time with my horse around, genuinely nice, horse loving people

I have been on this yard since February 2015 and I could wish for nothing better for my horse. It is run by an Amazing couple Karen and Chris and the Yard Manager Stephen is absolutely fantastic. They go above and beyond for your horses and I couldn’t ask for anything more. They have always accommodated to my horses needs, especially a few times when he has fallen ill, nothing is too much trouble. The atmosphere is amazing, every livery is lovely and we all see each other as family always working together to help each other out. The facilities are amazing, huge modern monarch stables, fantastic grazing, beautiful arena, secure tackroom, and also XC and jumping fields, not to mention the lovely hacking on the doorstep. There is also all year turnout which all on the yard are extremely grateful for. Couldn’t recommend this yard more!!

I have been on this beautiful yard since 2016. My horse wants for absolutely nothing here, the horses needs are of the upmost priority to the owners/staff. My mare has needed specific rehab restrictions/care as per vet advice to which Karen has met without question. The facilities are second to none & maintained to a top standard, excellent grazing & paddock sizes, beautiful spacious monarch stables, huge outdoor arena, xc field, secure tack rooms - everything needed is on hand and close by showing how much thought has gone into the layout. Very friendly, welcoming atmosphere where everyone is happy enjoying their horses - just as it should be.

Absolutely amazing yard with top class facilities. A lovely friendly atmosphere on the yard with amazing owners who will go above and beyond to make sure your horses needs are met. I brought my gelding to Oakenshaw after he had been bullied and kicked to death. He settled straight in and now he’s the most chilled out horse ever, he’s never been as happy and settled as he is at Oakenshaw. He truly loves his home. I would highly recommend this yard to others.

We've been at Oakenshaw for two years now and we've never had a problem what so ever. We have a fantastic relationship with the owners and the horsey people often come to us for running repairs to their boxes and trailers. We tend to find people are treated accordingly on the yard, hence, play by the rules and you'll be fine. Can't recommend Oakenshaw enough, fantastic yard and fantastic owners. 🐎🐴🐎🐴🐎🐴🐎🐴🐎🐴🐎🐴🐎

The yard is a stunning yard... which is a shame as the yard owner is not so very nice! She has sent me numerous amounts of abuse via text (which I have kept). She has also slated me about my person life. She stalked my social media and had a go at me for anything that I shared. She always told me people on the yard was complaining to her about me but once spoken to the other liveries it was all news to them. If you want a yard owner to have a go at you for your personal life and nothing horse related then this is the yard for you, if not then I would stay clear. Edit: Clearly Karen is the good guy.... I think not! Please see below the abuse you get. And please elaborate how I have been on 4 yards in the space do 6 months when I’ve been at yours for 6 months??? Your lies just don’t add up!!
