This place really unprofessional, accompanied with terrible attitude and exceptionally bland food. We stumbled upon this after our shop of choice had closed. We should have read the reviews but we were too impatient. My oh my was the oxtail bland and the attitude of the woman behind the counter terrible. Like our business transaction was a burden... We paid in cash already and didn’t want to have any conflict, so we went home and tried to forget about it until we tried the food. Oxtail meat is already so flavorful, so I can’t even fathom how this particular dish could lack so much flavor. Not enough love. This is what I imagine gruel to taste like. It was also very overpriced. Really unfortunate, as it is tucked in between other places that apparently offered much better food and service.

I came in and immediately the nice lady said they only have oxtail. I asked if they have rice and peas and they said no only steamed veg, said I’ll take 2. Shortly while waiting for 2 oxtail, other woman comes out and says she has some rice and then ask if I want saran wrap on all of it and I said no thank you separate please. I saw they were doing it individually and I said verbatim “sorry, I meant separate as a meal, so 1 steam veg & oxtail, then 1 rice & oxtail if that’s okay”, then the woman kisses her teeth and gives attitude saying I said separate and they only had a little saran wrap. I interrupted and said “okay I’m sorry, I misunderstood, that’s okay, however you were going to do it before that way is fine”. Then she spends time complaining about the lack of saran wrap, meanwhile she didn’t complain before about saran wrapping each individual container (which 100% would have used up more than me asking to do it by meal). I said my pleasantries in thank you and have a good evening, but that woman in particular had terrible attitude. Don’t run a store if you don’t know how to respond to people. Edit: And to add, after getting home and trying the oxtail I will say it’s the worst oxtail I’ve ever had before. Having been to Guyana, Trinidad, Antigua, Aruba, Barbados & Grenada having tried theirs compared to here, Hot Pot has the most flavourless oxtail ever Kid-friendliness: Don’t bring your kids here ever. The woman will probably treat them bad too

I think they have changed the chef or recipe as the oxtail stew used to be amazing. Sweet and succulent. I have purchased it twice in the past few weeks. The first was oily but not to bad and the recent was like it ws made with bisto gravy. Please get the old chef back or use the old recipe:(
