Good. Nice old building, quite maze-like and entertaining to navigate. Feels ever so slightly tired, could use some freshening up, but comfortable and with courteous, efficient staff. Rooms : 3/5 | Service : 4/5 | Location : 4/5 … More

The service was poor because they didn't have enough people serving. The two starters were cold and main dishes just warm and disappointing. Service : 2/5 | Location : 4/5 … More

(Translated by Google) Hotel du vin is fine: large antique building, neat, comfortable beds and a breakfast that is worth it in a very nice room. What was missing were the 'coffee and tea facilities' which are almost standard in an English hotel. And they are very economical with the towels.

My partner and I had a delightful evening in the bistro and bar. Our waiter was charming and very knowledgable about the wines we ordered. The food and cocktails were delicious and the service was outstanding.

Disappointing! Bistro review only! Go to the Ivy instead! Arrived at the hotel bar which was closed until 5pm! So we went next door to Browns and spent over £100 on drinks so wasted opportunity. We arrived to an empty bistro and no member of staff in there to greet us. When the waiter finally arrived there was no offer to take our coats which we then had to put on the back of our chairs after being outside in the rain. The food I have to say was excellent we did enjoy the three courses, BUT there is a lack of attention to detail. The table wasn’t set properly I was missing a fork which we had take from another table as the waiter didn’t notice after our starters. The waiter was pleasant and nice enough but was a very odd experience being the only ones in the restaurant this is at 2pm on a Saturday! And we were the only ones in there when we left at 4 as another couple arrived. There was also no toilet paper in the bathroom. Whilst the food was good, the experience was underwhelming and for the same price you can have great food, impeccable service and all the attention to details if you go to the Ivy, sorry but we would not return. If I was the hotel manager I would also be extremely concerned that their restaurant was empty on a Saturday.

My husband and I recently visited Cambridge and stayed here for two nights. The staff was incredibly helpful, stored our luggage before check-in and moved it into our room when it was available. Our room was toward the back of the hotel, with a view over a courtyard, so it was very quiet. The room and bathroom were spacious, with lovely high quality bedding and linens. We also enjoyed the breakfast, with lots of choices on the continental buffet and cooked breakfast options from the menu. The hotel is in a convenient location in Cambridge and is a short walk to the center centre. We had a rental car that we were able to park out front of the hotel (hourly rate parking spot during day time hours). We would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to others.

We attended a private function in one of the reception rooms, but did not stay in this hotel. The facilities we accessed were excellent, well presented and warm. While the building is old it has been extensively renovated and the results are excellent. The food was excellent, well prepared and presented. The service was unobtrusive and efficient. A very pleasant experience all round.

A comfortable hotel close to the centre of Cambridge. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The facilities are a little bit tired and the food in the restaurant not quite as wonderful as you might hope - especially considering the prices charged. There isn’t any parking at the hotel. Parking at the public car park on Parker’s Piece is a short walk away and quite reasonably priced (£20 for a weekend).
