Recommend completely. Works to dogs ability. Much kinder way of puppy training than years ago. Small class, so more one to one. Very patient with us dog parents!

Highly recommend this course for a new puppy. The class was easy to understand, very well organised and the trainers were excellent in explaining and giving you the time to ask questions as well as guidance and help during the exercise. Good starter to do for bonding with your puppy and the training exercises/advice actually work!!!

Had great fun learning how to train my puppy Monty. We still have some way to go before we are experts but the skills I learnt in the classes will be invaluable. We will be looking at follow on classes.

Where to start!? Sue and Carol had a huge impact on my (covid) pup and more importantly me - my first dog lives in a World of fairies and butterflies so I never had to learn to manage any reactivity; Murphy (Smurph) was a very different dog who suffered with not being able to get into puppy classes until things started opening up/ spaces opening up - the only one available turned out to not be so great (one in Norfolk) - doing more harm than good (think letting a border collie chase him around a field/ instructor restraining Smurph against him, ignoring his screams to demonstrate being at heel etc.)... In advance of joining HotDog training classes, Sue put my mind at ease and gave a lot of time to talk to me to learn more about the behaviours - there was no pressure to sign up to the full course until we had seen how Smurph got on in the first session to make sure he could cope. I was also worried about ruining the classes for anyone else if Smurph was to bark but both Sue and Carol continued to reassure me and Smurph. Every session, Sue and Carol gave Smurph lots of space (we had our own corner of the barn!) to reduce his anxiety - the other members were also brilliant and very understanding. Smurph excelled at all the training elements in the classes (we did two courses and would have done more if I wasn't leaving the area!).. I also found that his confidence grew as he recognised that he was doing so well.. he even won a competition of doing a down-stay from the biggest distance; he was very proud and extremely happy with winning his favourite treats that Sue and Carol had remembered! If anyone gets down this far - I cannot tell you how much Smurph was able to improve on the training elements by Sue and Carol offering corrections and guidance to me; the informative handouts with homework were fantastic, but I learn best by seeing someone demonstrate - a simple timing correction/ body position adjustment made all the difference and really shows that it's rarely a case of 'my dog can't do it'. Not many trainers will take the time to monitor what you're up to but Carol and Sue were extremely conscientious and always offered different levels to suit the handler and dog. I can't thank Sue and Carol enough for all they did - we're getting a lot of use out of the 'spin' to dry feet after wet walks!!!
