The Cottage Hospice is an absolute Gem.. my nan spent her final days here and as a family we could not of asked for a better place.. the nurses and staff were so accommodating and professional and the hospice itself tranquil. All food and drinks were supplied and my mum and aunt were able to deliver my nan's care, as her "family care givers".. the rooms had all the facilities needed and my mum and aunt were able to stay with my nan 24 hours a day. Highly recommended and the Cottage Hospice should be very proud of themselves for the wonderful service and care they provide to their patients in their end of life stages.

There are NO words to express the gratitude I feel towards the 'Angels' who work and volunteer here. Unfortunately, my eldest Brother is currently undertaking his final journey of life here and there is NOTHING that these Angels wont / can't do to ensure that it is as comfortable and dignified as possible. FABULOUS Staff and Volunteets treat my Brother like Family and that is a great comfort to me and I know his wife and Son. Having ridden up from Cornwall on Monday, I was accommodated so that I could be there to spend the Tuesday there too. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU ❤❤❤❤❤💔💔💔💔💔❤❤❤❤❤

My Dad spent his final week here and I can’t thank the cottage hospice enough for everything from start to finish. The second you walk into this place there is a very welcoming energy about it. The hospice is beautiful with two fully stocked kitchens, a lounge area, private rooms and a beautiful orchid garden. The staff are absolutely amazing, they genuinely care and did anything to make my dads final days as peaceful and easy for him and us as a family as possible. I would recommend this hospice to anyone, it is absolutely faultless. It is the only hospice in the UK that family members and friends are able to stay with the patient 24/7. Thank you so so much to the cottage hospice

Beautiful modern facility, amazing caring staff who treat you as an extended family member. I recently stayed there for 3 weeks with my dad, step mother and step sister to help my dad through his last days. There is an amazing calming empathy about the place from the minute you walk in. The nurses and volunteers, doctors, management and cleaning staff all deserve medals for the way they go about their jobs. I wanted to be as involved with every step of my dads last few weeks of care as I could be and every process was explained and demonstrated to me with total professionalism. You can be as hands on or off with regards to caring for your family member as you like changing from hour to hour, task to task.if you do t want to do something just ask. The facilities are modern, clean & plentiful with a fully stocked kitchen, cafe lounge area, chapel, laundry room and many personal and private feeling rooms, all with ample space and individual facilities to enable you and your family to continue life as close to normally as possible behind closed doors should you not wish to socialise with other families in the communal areas of the building. I must say however I spoke with every family in the time we were there and all offered each other support in some way. My dads final days were tough on him and us and there is no easy way to describe how totally exhausted I felt at the end. But I do take solace and find great comfort knowing that he passed away peacefully listening blackbirds in the wild garden out the back of the building watching the sun rise through the trees. He had the best care at the best facility and you should use this service if you are nearing the end of your life and want the last few days to be made easier for you and your family. Ben & Barry Saunders July 2021.
