(Translated by Google) Although there are many people complaining about the environment of this apartment in the comment area. But objectively speaking, this apartment provides you enough private space without sharing the bathroom or kitchen with others. Secondly, the location is very convenient. There are two supermarkets, Morrison and Sains'sbury downstairs, and across the road is a 24-hour McDonald's, and a Pakistani fried chicken restaurant that is open until 3 am. Besides that there is a red pepper Chinese restaurant, they serve pretty good Chinese food. My teaching building is in the stopford building, and it only takes 5 minutes from leaving my house to entering the classroom. Been away for over half a year now and I miss this place to stay terribly.

There is a star because the location is good to go to class or supermarket. The guy in Costa is really nice. But all of the other things are nightmare. - The lady in the reception (where to get your parcels) got an "I don't care" attitude, it's difficult to communicate with them; The building is very old: - the fire alarm were set off every few days, so you may suddenly need to go out the building in the winter when you are in the middle of showering; - there's no elevator; - The furnitures looks like a hundred years old (not in the good way), breaking and not working; - Things missing from the checking list they gave us, dustbins etc, told the reception but no one cares, we bought another one in the end; - The desk lamp is kind of broken; - The blue sofa, if you can call it a sofa, is disgusting, we found lots of hair in the cushion when we first arrive and decide to wash the cover just in case; I could do a long list with this...... I first thought it's the British way of doing this, price sky high with rent, but when you find out you can get a nice, clean, well-managed flat in the city centre with this price it's just..... unbelievable. It's unbelievable to treat students like this.

The heater could only work for 2 hours and the furniture is very old. I ask the maintenance team to repair the smoke exhaust ventilator. They said I need a new one and I have been waiting for 2 months maybe 3months for future.

Two stars for the location being near all the necessary amenities and transport needed to get to a lot of places, but it’s location is also what caused it to lose the other three. As it is located right above the smoking areas of Morrison’s, costa coffee and the general student population, be prepared to keep your windows shut even in the heat of summer if you want to avoid second-hand smoking. As some have pointed out, the frequent emergency vehicle sirens are ear splittingly loud and annoying especially on weekends when it goes off every hour or so into the night and the wee hours of the morning. Also, Oxford Road seems to be the middle-of-the-night route of quite a number of very loud vehicles and ATVs on top of being across the road from a bar so if your flat faces it, be prepared to be forced to keep your non-soundproof windows shut at an attempt to get some sleep. The entrance to the apartment is also often littered with cigarettes, broken glass, litter, and flanked by smokers from costa and Morrison’s, which in my opinion is not safe for kids. Wish I could give this place a better rating as the university and lodging staff have been very nice, just unfortunate that the general area surrounding this residence is so rough.

I stuck there for 1 year and I wouldn't recommend it for any1. The flat is overpriced and the accommodation stuff will treat you as you are living there for free. The response for maintenance requests is fairly fast and the accommodation is near many stores and bus stops. But the heater works only 6 hours in the day and is limited to 21C when it works. So enjoy cold the nights because these 6 hours does not include it. The flat and the beds are really tiny with the bathroom being the tiniest, more like a portable one. Be aware for maintenance work because the office will do it even if you do not want it and when they want to do it and your right to object is limited. the noise is unbearable, sirens from the ambulances because you living near a hospital, music from the bar opposite street, base vibration from the arena also opposite street and finally the drunk on weekends and your neighbours because the walls are thin .. I forgot .. there is no elevator so enjoy the free exercise and carrying your bags for 3 floors

Highly recommended if you are a couple or have young children who wants to live in a great location and do not mind climbing up the stairs as there are no elevator here. I personally found the size reasonable and low maintenance. The proximity from bus stops, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Costa, Lidl, Poundland, Superdrug, WH Lung, Curry Mile, university hospital and the university is just perfect. Combined with the all-inclusive bill, I find the price highly reasonable. Just a heads up, expect frequent ambulance sirene going off almost everyday as it is located next to a hospital.
