Barman ok. Small area to drink in if you are not eating and it's a very big pub. We were on a canal holiday and moored up near there for the night so won't be regulars I guess.

This was my birthday celebration, & 14 of us attended. More than Hopwood house like to cater, but when I asked nicely, they said they'd make it work... & they dud! The service was prompt & attentive, the food was really nice, & the staff were all friendly & helpful. Quite perfect!

The food we actually eventually got was good. Portion sizes meager/stingy. Staff seemed very laid back. Service was far to slow esp given that it wasn't overly busy. Shame nice place in nice surroundings. Would I go bk. Not by choice. Had to hunt staff down to get parts of our orders and to get a bill. Bigger portions at a 2 4 1 pub. It would appear that the brewery dictates portion size to the pub if what they say is correct. I think they need a rethink or they will loose more custom. Alacarte prices for pub grub
