First time coming here and it was a random decision to try something new with a mate. I'm not sure what I was expecting but I've got to say it was brilliant. The pie of the day was incredible, Bailey's cheesecake was delicious and all reasonably priced. Looking at the agenda for the coming month looked like they had lots going on in the coming weeks as well. Combine this with the beautiful rural location, a country park next door for nice walks and the staff being incredibly helpful and cheerful. This truly is a hidden gem and I'll certainly be returning

This is a great pub to visit, we've eaten here so many times. It's totally dog friendly inside and outside. The menus have a good selection on them and there is a good choice of drinks. Lots of places to sit; indoors, under the veranda outside or in the gardens. Why we love this pub is because it's right next to some excellent dog walking routes on the Hucking Estate. After a good walk you can sit and relax with a meal and watch people turn up with their dogs, horses, motorbikes, and even campervans. The staff have always been friendly and helpful, even when they are super busy. We'll be going back again soon.

Very disappointed that the manager and staff refused to bring water to the dogs that were in the hot sun. While I appreciate there are bowls and an outdoor tap for owners to avail of, dogs were sitting in the sun without water. I asked for water to be brought to the dogs because the owners had been neglectful but the staff refused. In the end, I brought the dogs some water. It's everyone's responsibility to make sure that dogs are comfortable. I hardly think that dog owners who have had a few pints are in the best state of mind to be thinking about their dogs. Poor show to have refused to do something so simple stating that it's not your responsibility.

Lovely pub in a nice country setting. Dog friendly with decent walks straight from the pub. They have camping on site and regular events. The food is basic but the price reflects this. Worth a visit if you are in the area.
