I was here for the infinity bridge experience. Very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff made you feel at ease. Gary who was our guide was particularly good. Stunning location with a flypast as well. So much to do here. Would recommend the sausage rolls in the cafe, well worth the trip alone.

This outstanding slate mine has few adventure activities such as mine tour and via ferrata. Mine tour is a wonderful experience. Need to purchase a ticket at the office and sent up to the mine entrance in a bus with a guide. Tour inside mine lasts for 1 hour. 3 tours per day. First tour is at 10.30 and next is at 12.30. Tour is very informative and can see how slate mining was done earlier days. Our guide Mr. Donald was a fantastic gentleman. He took us in the mine safely and shared lot of information with us. Videos are also shown even inside the mine to give an idea as to how it operated those days and to communicate it’s story. Superb tour. Scenery around the mine is stunning. At the office there is a nice souvenir shop and a cafe. Cafe has lot of eating options. However if you are buying food items other than already prepared ones, they take up to 20 mins to prepare. Waiting time is more if crowded. If visiting the mine via public transport from keswick, bus 77 and 77A can be taken. These buses start from keswick and come back to same place running a round trip. 77A is clockwise and 77 is anti clockwise. 77A is closer. First bus departs keswick at 8.30 and hourly up to 12.30 and then two hourly. However. After 12.00 services are not reliable. Hence if no 77s to get back to keswick, need to walk to seatroller which is 1.4 miles away towards keswick and take bus 78 which runs every 30 mins, i.e. 20th and 50th minute of every hour. Surprisingly it’s just 2 pounds per person for single journey irrespective of the distance.
