    Sew n Sew’s were fantastic. They provided a really good service, were friendly and knowledgeable. I bought a dress to wear for a wedding and got it altered elsewhere. The other place made a mess of it and wouldn’t put it right for me but Sew n Sew’s advised me, fixed the problem and importantly did it in a short timescale. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. Ros and her team were fantastic and they have a wealth of knowledge. They are my go to alterations expert! Service: Dress alterations

    1 star is too much. I trusted them with my wedding dress. The dress itself is from a well-known international designer (still had the labels on, never been worn).The sleeves of the dress were floor-length. I asked them take up both the sleeves and the hem of the dress but to have the sleeves drape slightly longer than the length of the dress itself. For this they charged £55 and asked for 3 weeks to complete the job. I did call before the time to see if it was ready as I felt that 3 weeks was more than enough time. They said that it was so I collected the dress the day after. I took the dress away and tried it on half an hour after. The sleeves were completely different on either side... so much so that when I put it back on the hanger, you could see the difference even then! The shortest was also the same length of the dress, so shorter than I had asked for. Obviously once too much has been taken away it can't be put back on again! I called and said as much and they said they would fix it although they made it clear that they didn't think it was their fault. However, after taking the dress back they were so rude that I asked for a fair proportion of what I had originally paid back. They offered me £10 out of the £55 which I felt was absolutely appalling. After saying as much, I was given a further ten pounds. They clearly overcharged. The length of service was ridiculous. This should have been a relatively easy alternative - they made a hash of it. Their customer care is non-existent. I 100% do NOT recommend using them for alternations and hope that my review will prevent someone else being in the same situation. Luckily, my situation can be salvaged! Service: Alterations

    Ros & Helen at Sew n Sews were very helpful when suggesting and carrying out appropriate alterations to a bridesmaid I will be wearing for a friends wedding. The did a top quality job of sewing up a slit in the chest area that involved altering into the waistband of the dress, adjusting the halter neckline to sit perfectly on my collar bones, and took up the pleated hem and inner lining. They described their methods meticulously so that I could truly understand the cost involved in what they needed to do, plus they were open to altering things in a more affordable way, but explaining that just top-stitching some seams would not give me the best result. So i chose the more thorough and robust options for a slightly higher cost, and it was worth it. I highly recommend their expertise. Service: Alterations
