Our primary school's School Council were lucky enough to take part in a workshop last week from Home Instead, which taught us how to be 'dementia friends'. The cause of dementia and the effects it has were explained in a child-friendly way which allowed every child from year 2-6 to leave with a clearer understanding of dementia and how to treat those who are affected. As the adult attending the workshop I also learned lots about the disease and have already shared what I've learned with others.

Our Dementia Friends session led by Ram was very informative and delivered in a professional yet kind manner. All those attending went away feeling they had a much better understanding of Dementia and what the sufferer and their carers might be going through. Dementia Friends training is suitable for all and is a valuable tool to have, given that most of us know someone, either personally or professionally, who is affected by the disease.

I did lots of training to begin with to help me in my job.The training has continued through out my time here. Learning new things everyday is great. I have been given lots of amazing clients and have really enjoyed my daily visits. Seeing someone regularly helps with your relationship and understanding of them . I take pride in my work and will treat any client as if they were my own family member. Our purple team have been very supportive and understanding.
