We cannot speak highly enough of Home Instead. They were recommended to us by several people and we are so pleased with their care. We love the fact that the same carers come regularly, no one new comes without being introduced first and they come at a set time each day (this was important for us - we didn't want Dad going to bed at 7pm one day and maybe 9pm another day, as can happen with many agencies). The ladies are all lovely with Dad (and us!), the support from the office is excellent and they really understand how challenging it is to make decisions around elderly, dementia care. They are definitely 5*****.

This was the second care agency we used and we definitely wished it had been our first! The whole process of setting up care for our father at home was seamless. There was great professionalism, compassion and warmth shown by all the staff we had contact with and fantastic communication and organisation behind the scenes. The carer arrangements were second to none with two carers appointed to cover the whole week and work side-by-side to cover absence. There was certainty in the arrangements, knowing who would be there each day, at what time and for how long. The care and companionship provided was of an extremely high standard with attention to every last detail. The carers were just the type of people you’d want to pick yourself if you could. A plus point for us was that the laundry, general household duties and errands were undertaken by the carers. This took the pressure off us enormously. The carers were very thoughtful and proactive when it came to helping out about the house and leaving notes. It really was our pleasure to work with such a first-class agency, the only downside being it wasn’t way long enough.

I worked for Home Instead for nearly 5 years as a caregiver and they really were the most amazing company to work for. They care for their staff as much as we cared for our clients. We had excellent training before starting there and the training was kept upto date by either physical training or online. All members of the office staff were cheerful, friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. We were able to see the same clients each week and if meeting a new client we were introduced to them before we started to work with them. We were able to get to know our clients and our calls weren’t rushed. I used to support them with not just personal care but also preparing meals, laundry, shopping, cleaning, taking out for walks, taking our for a drive. We would also read books, play games, talk about their past and their family and just generally have a good chat. The feeling it gives when you know you’ve brought them some happiness is amazing. A top class company to work for.

I’ve been with Home Instead-East Hampshire and Midhurst for about five years now, after 30 years of working in Residential Care. I felt I needed to tell anyone looking for a job in supporting people, or if you are looking for someone to assist a loved one, what a lovely team we are. What a lovely role I play as a Caregiver. We have our regular clients to visit, and time to really get to know them, not just assisting with their personal care. I support them with preparing their meals, shopping, cleaning, taking out for a walk or a drive. I play quizzes, and name games, exercises etc, or just have a good old chat, whatever they want to do. I have been able to keep my training up to date. We have a great management team who support us, but they will also support clients and their families. I just wish I knew about Home Instead when my mum started to get forgetful, I’m sure she could have stayed in her own home a lot longer than she did, before needing to go into a Residential Home.
