Staff a bit slow; have to ask for spoons and napkins with drinks/food. Very over priced. £4 for a slice of cake?! I wouldn’t in a million years pay those sorts of prices. They need to rethink their prices.

What a lovely spot for a woodland walk followed by a good cup of Yorkshire tea and a delicious cheese scone. There was even a doggy ice-cream for our companion. I highly recommend the Home Farm Cafeat Beningbrough Hall near York when you're in the area.

Although the farm cafe is located within the Benningborough Estate, (and is only 100 M from the main cafe for the big house, it's clientele is totally different). The farm shop is one of the most popular turnaround spots near York. By that I mean families cycle out 10 Mile to the farm shop, partake of coffee and cake, then cycle home. Similarly walkers do the loop around the outside of the Benningborough Estate (1hr ish adults, 2hrs with small kids) and stop at the farm shop for a feed either at the end,or half way. So more or less everyone visiting the farm shop is not actually going in the big house..they are just passing through. Food and drink is decent, service can be a little slow, but staff are charming. It's a place to chill for 20 mins, not rush
