‘The Holy Well of Saint Anne on Priest Hill near its junction with St. Anne's Road in Caversham, Reading, Berkshire, England, UK. The well, and a nearby "little Chapel on the Bridge" which is no longer extant, date back to medieval times. The well's mineral waters were believed by pilgrims to have healing powers. The location of the well was lost until 1906 when it was discovered by workmen. The memorial drinking fountain and cover of the well were built and dedicated in 1908.’ It’s a pity that there are no directional signs leading to the location of this little piece of history. The reason not many people know about it.

Ancient well to see. It says: "The healing waters of which brought many pilgrims to Caversham in the middle ages"

Perhaps no longer a place if holy pilgrimage but still fascinating to visit, tucked in the suburbs of Reading.
