FAQ

What qualifications do your instructors have, and what kind of experience do they have in rock climbing?

Our instructors are all certified by recognized climbing organizations and have years of experience in the sport. They are knowledgeable about different climbing techniques and safety measures, and have a passion for teaching others about the sport.

Do you provide equipment, or do customers have to bring their own?

We provide all necessary equipment for our courses and sessions, including ropes, harnesses, helmets, and climbing shoes. Customers are welcome to bring their own equipment if they prefer.

What beginner-level courses do you offer, and how long do they generally last?

We offer several beginner-level courses, including basic skills and technique courses, top-rope climbing courses, and bouldering courses. The length of each course varies depending on the specific course and the needs of the participants, but most courses last between 1-3 days.

What is the instructor-to-student ratio during a typical course or session?

We maintain a low instructor-to-student ratio to ensure that each participant receives individual attention and guidance. The exact ratio varies depending on the course or session, but we aim for a maximum of 1 instructor to every 6 participants.

What kind of safety measures do you have in place during climbs, and what is your emergency protocol?

We have a number of safety measures in place during climbs, including regular equipment checks, proper use of safety equipment, and clear communication between climbers and instructors. In the event of an emergency, our instructors are trained in first aid and will take appropriate action to ensure the safety of all participants. We also have emergency response procedures in place and are in contact with local emergency services if needed.

I did a four hour Lead Climbing course with Holly in early 2023. She is a highly knowledgeable and a very approachable instructor. Initially, I found the transition from top/bottom roping to lead climbing to be highly daunting, but Holly’s instrucrions were both informative and confidence boosting and I owe her immense gratitude, as every thing she taught me in handy and I kept referring to her training and the many tips she offered as I started leading and seconding. I highly recommend doing a course with her instead of starting leading without proper training as the one she offers. Happy customer here and I’d highly recommend her.

We went to the Peaks with Holly. A couple of us only started climbing outdoors this year so it was a great trip. It was useful to see how to set up the climbs too. Holly is super personable, great at giving tips when you need them and obviously safe. I'll be arranging more trips with her which I look forward to.

I had an amazing day of climbing outside with Holly! It was my first embark outdoors and I was completely satisfied after today! She is very concerned with safety for her climbers and respecting the environment we are climbing in, while giving you an opportunity to have fun with the routes at the same time. Was a very fun time!

Went to Portland with Holly and a few other climbers for some top roping. It was my first time climbing on actual rock, and she made me feel very at ease about it. As an instructor, she deftly combines a relaxed go-with-the-flow demeanor while taking the the whole thing seriously where it counts, i.e. safety and technique. I learned a lot and would definitely go again.

Holly is an amazing instructor. She is patient, fun, deep knowledge-oriented on climibing. I had a lesson with her in Harrison's Rocks. The environment was quite tricky due to the rock structure. Many times i want to give up since i really not use to the slippy rock. Holly keeps encouraging me through the entire time, at the end I managed to complete several hard paths! As being a first time outdoor rock climber, I gained a lot of confidence from her Defo would love to carrying on having lesson with her in the future!!

I had a WONDERFUL top rope climbing session with Holly in Autumn at Harrison`s Rocks. I had three years of experience in bouldering, but it was my first time climbing in the nature. She was very PATIENT and ENCOURAGING. She made sure that I learnt how to trust my own body in a completely new environment, she also made sure that I had some FUN! It was a good balance. She has eyes into details, and a lot of RESPECT FOR NATURE. She has got her own kit to protect the rocks from rope friction; and a shoe mat to make sure the sole is free of sand before climbing. She is full of passion for not only climbing, but also teaching climbing. Definitely GREAT coach to recommend. :)

Holly is an amazing instructor! After my first not-so-great attempt at climbing with another instructor, I’ve taken her course and fell in love with climbing. From teaching the basics of tying-in to belay and actually climbing to listening and addressing all the concerns, she’s simply great and I couldn't have asked for a better teacher! She makes me feel safe and is happy to chat through any concerns but is also great at pushing me to get better. Holly's very warm and personable, not to mention climbing (and chatting) with her is great fun and I can't wait to climb with her again!

It was our first time outdoor climbing, and Holly was a great coach - she did everything to make us safe, enjoy our session and send some actual problems. Can't wait for the next one!
