Had a leisurely stroll in this beautifully restored walled garden. It's a pleasant 15 minute walk along a gravel footpath from the house, on the other side of the lake. There's a £5.50 entrance fee. The lady at the gate was very helpful, letting me know aĺl about the layout and what there is to see. The garden is huge and divided into sections devoted to flowers, vegetables, fruit trees and vines. There are rare and unusual varieties, and all the plants looked healthy and well tended. The orangery and greenhouses are filled with more exotic plants and are well worth a look. There's also a maze and, on the day I visited, some fun events and games for children. The coffee stall in the courtyard sells not only coffee but hot chocolate, ice tea and soft drinks. Spent about an hour here but would happily have stayed longer. Not to be missed when visiting Holkham Hall.
