I turned up at 13.15 on a Friday and they were shut although website states open until 14.00. Tried ringing them but no answer. What poor customer service.

Design & Build
After phoning I drove over to leave a refundable card payment for security and to collect the hire item. I entered my card in to their card machine and did the transaction but the guy serving then wrote down all my card details on a pad including the three security numbers on the back. When I politely asked him why he did that he said for ID purposes. I offered him my drivers licence and or passport as ID but he said the company will not accept this and writing down card details is the only way. He said I am the only person to question this in 5 years. He asked me if I wanted the written card details ripped up and when I said yes he took a pair of scissors and cut the paper in to small pieces. He then put the item I wanted to hire back on the shelf and cancelled my card transaction. Why would he need to write down my card details (for others to see) when I offered official ID and paid a refundable amount for security on my card? I find this very strange and bordering on unlawful. I checked it out and credit card companies advise to avoid this practice. I will certainly never use this company again as there are plenty of other hire companies who do not write your card details down and keep them.
