I love this little nature reserve. It's always a pleasure to walk around and see what nature I can spot. Normally in Autum, it's good for fungi, but I visited in May today and the irises are just about to flower in the meadow. There was also lots of stitchwort flowering and quite a few moths fluttering about. If you go when it's been raining, wellies are almost certainly needed so bare that in mind if you plan on visiting.

Nice woodlands & wetlands walk, it's a small area but pleasent to walk through, there are a couple of routes that you can take, with entry and exit points onto the surrounding roads.

Escape to nature in Hocombe Mead only a few steps from the main Hiltonnbury Road and immerse yourself in woodlands marshlands and rolling banks. In summer time there are even friendly cattle in the far meadow, you wouldn't believe you are so close to a major conurbation.
