Vlad recently undertook a full out-of-the-water survey on my narrowboat Hallmark. A recommendation to use HMS came from a very experienced and well-respected marine surveyor who was simply too busy to carry out a condition survey on a 30 foot river cruiser. I am very pleased I took his advice; meticulous and professional are the two words which sum up Vladimir’s approach and he gave me excellent advice before, during and after the survey. At the end of the survey he walked me through his findings and gave me a really detailed verbal brief on the boat and its condition. What came out was his knowledge and experience along with the care and attention to detail in carrying out the survey, in particular in relation to the condition of the hull. The manager of the boat yard, who was around for the duration of the survey, commented that it was the most detailed survey he had seen undertaken in a very long time. The report threw up a couple of points with respect to the hull. Neither issue was a show stopper (earlier repairs which now required remedial work), but the fact that they were identified (the seller was unaware as they had not been picked up in his survey) has given me peace of mind. The report was received on time and in a follow up discussion I felt that Vladimir gave me balanced and sound advice which I very much appreciated. I would thoroughly recommend HMS and the yard have also added HMS to their list of surveyors for future customers. If Vladimir is willing to travel to your area then don’t hesitate to use his services.
