Just scammers! I live abroad and needed to renew my son's passport, they had issues with my countersignatures and decided the best way to contact me was via mail (mail takes a month to get here since Brexit). They asked for a new countersignature and asked me to fill in a form for UK residents only despite the fact I live abroad. I sent a new countersignature back to them via mail as they wanted it via mail it also takes a month to go back to the UK. They eventually send me an email saying my countersignature is too difficult to check despite being acceptable under their rules and they asked if I could get my son's teacher to do it to which I replied I wasn't able to. They then passed the application on to someone else because this person didn't want to do the work, they withdrew the passport application and said we can accept your countersignature but you need to pay us again and fill in more forms again. I put in a complaint to which they didn't reply. I waited 2 months and put in another complaint to which they replied that the passport application was withdrawn because there was no contact and try to blame me for their mistake!!! Can't believe I let them scam me for £75!! Thankfully my son has dual nationality, his other passport took 2 weeks from sending the forms in to receiving it at a cost of about £6.50 (yes less than 10% of the British passport cost). I'm eligible for an Irish passport so I'm getting my first Irish passport now (about £40 cheaper than British) so I don't need to deal with this passport office again and eventually due to the cheaper costs I will get my money back that way.

Total appalling the lack of care and support from this service. Live in Auzz Waited 8and a half months for my passport to come through. Only to discover they have the wrong date of birth on my passport. Was told to sent quickest way possible for them to fix the mistake costing additional $230. Then to be told they have a a back log and not sure when the mail will be opened. Even thought this was the instructions given to me by them for them to fix the mistake as I Booked a holiday for my 50th birthday meeting friends and family to join to to celebrate. Zero care factor no one apparently can help when you call they don’t have managers or supervisor you can be transferred to. They won’t send a email admitting responsibility for their mistake they might not have it printed and returned to me even though they had 3 full weeks to do so. So I Loss out on celebrating my 50th with my family and friends on holiday they will all be on holiday without me because of their mistake. I also loss $8500 because someone can’t take the time to reprint the passport and send it back. They have all the information that is required to do so tracking number person who receive the parcel. Old passport PEX number passport with the mistake letter to support the documents new passport application. How can this not be fixed and returned when this was their mistake to begin with. 100% dissatisfied it’s a joke especially when they have plenty of time to fix their mistake. The one star is a mistake they should have minus stars

Although I understand it’s a difficult time for the staff just now I must say, excellent service with regards to my fast track application. Appointment on time, even though we had to travel a couple of hours. Staff very thorough and helpful and appointment itself only took about 15 mins. Was told to expect my new one by 11 may but it arrived less than 48hrs after my visit. Extremely happy with the result. Thank you to all involved.

Office opens at 8:30am, phones still saying they are out of hours at 8:50am. Promises every time I do speak to someone that I will receive a call within 2 weeks. It's now been 8 weeks and still no call.

applied for passport and sent documents in january at the start. they received my documents a week later and approved my application. i heard nothing back from them till march saying if i didn’t send my documents over in the next 5 days my application would be cancelled and not be refunded. i called and waited on hold for about 40 minutes for them to tell me that i had the wrong birth certificate and they had failed to notify me in almost 2 months. then i had to buy and wait for a new birth certificate to come and then pay to post it off. again. they received my documents then it was approved again. then i had a passport interview date set. they rescheduled my interview without even telling me and only told me at the time my new interview was meant to be via phone call asking if i could do it right then and there. this was no issue however the lack of communication from a government agency is absolutely shocking. anyway, had my interview it went fine then two days later i get an email saying my photo was rejected saying it doesn’t look recent. this photo was taken in January and i believe passports last 10 years so what is 3 months going to do? so then i had to pay for even more photos to be taken and sent off costing me more money. this then got approved and i am expecting to receive my passport in the next two weeks. this passport office needs a complete system overhaul and new staff put in place as they are clearly incompetent and should not be working for the government when peoples travel is at stake. it has cost me over £100 now in postage and re taking photos for this and i am still yet to receive it.
