    The car was delivered in a disgraceful state. Dirty beyond belief. Hippo leasing company took no action. They may be in business since 2007, but they should say they are merely a broker and will take no responsibility. Stay away. Last time we procure from HippoLeasing. Meaning..you should also stay away as this is a company that will not support your needs post transaction. Disgraceful Hippo!

    I took out a finance agreement, but after speaking with friends & family about my decision, I realised I had made a mistake. As per my 14 day cooling off period I decided to cancel it. I have not made a single payment to the company, I haven’t had any physical contact, it’s all been online via e-documents. Yes there was a mention of a cancellation charge, but I wouldn’t expect to be charged £600.00 to cancel an agreement. So they tried to tell me that I would have to pay £600.00, after being back & forth they have dropped it to £300.00 as they agreed that £600 is too much. I have made multiple phone calls & have always been told “you need to speak to the account manager” but once I’m through, I just get told that nothing can be done. I had asked for a breakdown of the cancellation fee as per the law surrounding the distance selling act, but management at hippo are baffled as to what I mean by asking for a breakdown for examples, costs incurred by the company that’s resulted in a loss for them. So after asking for a breakdown, I had a manager call back in which I was told “there would be a charge payable for the manpower that’s been put into setting up the agreement.” But surely if they’re paid a basic salary for the job, why should I pay £300.00 for manpower? I was told by an advisor I would receive a breakdown, only to be sent an email that literally says “£300.00 cancellation charge” no breakdown. This company hasn’t renewed their agreement/membership with the Motor ombudsman either.

    I initially contacted the Customer Care of Hippo early February 2023 after the delivery of my vehicle. The reasons for the contact were: 1. Missing of the 2nd FOB key as part of the delivery 2. To follow up on the transfer of car ownership V5C with DVLA One week after my initial call, nothibg had happened. Called Hippo Customer Care again, and Ryan was the advisor who has taken up the ownership of my requests. Within a week, Sienna has completed transferring the car ownership to me under DVLA. Thank you, Sienna! Regarding the missing 2nd FOB key, Ryan has patiently worked with his internal team and management to track down the key. In the end, Ryan has worked with Amy, Ryan's manager, to get approval for ordering a new FOB key for me. Ryan further followed up with car dealer confirming the order of the key until payment was made. Ryan, thanks so much for following through the processes of handling my requests and had a complete closure. Your assistance and support has turned my experience with Hippo full satisfactory!

    AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! If you want to be ripped off and be sold a broken car then Hippo is for you! The initial sales person was great, charming and friendly. They use every sales trick in the book and CANNOT wait to throw money at you. Because they know. 28% APR to start with. The car they sold me is a dud!! I got it in August 22 and by March the automatic gearbox has gone and is going to cost me £3,000 to fix!! There’s a reason the warranty period is only 6 months. If they had ANY faith in their own cars they would offer a 12 month warranty (I presumed it was 12 months otherwise I would have definitely extended it). I’m just so upset, I knew what I was signing with the ridiculous interest rate. I didn’t have a choice after returning to the UK after 10 years overseas. But I did not sign up or think the car would breakdown with a £3k bill 7 months later. Gearboxes don’t break overnight. Disgraceful

    Extremely satisfied with my experience of using Hippo. Saqib was my original point of contact and he seemed to go above and beyond ensuring that I was getting the right car for me and that I understood all the processes involved. From quote to delivery I was extremely impressed at the communication between myself and the different teams and how quickly it was all processed. Only 4 stars as when the car arrived it had a small dent that hadn't been identified previously but the team are working to rectify that, so would still highly recommend!
