Disappointing and Negligent: My Experience with Highland House Mental Health Services Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆ (0/5) I feel compelled to share my extremely disheartening and negative experience with Highland House Mental Health Services. It is essential to shed light on the concerning level of care and support I have encountered during my time seeking assistance from this organization. My hope is that this review serves as a cautionary tale for others in need of mental health services. From the moment I engaged with Highland House, I was met with a sense of negligence and incompetence. The lack of attention to detail and a genuine understanding of my specific mental health needs were apparent from the outset. Despite being the sole mental health service available through my trusted general practitioner, the consistent string of complaints surrounding Highland House cannot be ignored. One of the most alarming aspects of my interaction with Highland House was their failure to adhere to the guidelines set forth by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). These guidelines, designed to ensure evidence-based and high-quality care, were disregarded, leaving me questioning the professionalism and commitment of the staff. Their inability to properly address and treat my Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and its potential upgrade to Complex PTSD (CPTSD) only exacerbated my distress. Moreover, the utter lack of effective communication and understanding demonstrated by the mental health team at Highland House was truly disheartening. It became abundantly clear that they lacked the necessary skills and empathy required to provide the support I desperately needed. The dismissive attitude towards my concerns and the blatant disregard for my well-being left me feeling abandoned and utterly hopeless. The culmination of these shortcomings has left me without access to appropriate mental health care within my local area. I find it distressing that the only option available to me is a service that has proven itself to be negligent, abusive, and consistently failing in its duty to its patients. The ramifications of such inadequacy are far-reaching, leaving individuals like myself without access to essential support and care. In conclusion, I cannot stress enough the disappointment and frustration I have experienced with Highland House Mental Health Services. Their inability to meet the basic expectations of quality care, their failure to follow NICE guidelines, and their lack of compassion and understanding have left me feeling abandoned and unsupported. It is my sincere hope that urgent improvements are made to mental health services in our community, ensuring that no one else has to endure the same distressing ordeal I have faced. Please think carefully before seeking assistance from Highland House Mental Health Services. Your well-being and mental health deserve better than the neglect and substandard care that this organization has repeatedly demonstrated.

Never listened to, said they’d forwards my documents to my doctors surgery when I was 18- they didn’t- doctors knew nothing about my prescriptions. Waiting list so long. Got shipped all over the place. They took me on and then said actually no you’re not bad enough so sent me to another place who said I was too high risk to take on so then sent back here. They finally took me on. Gave me meds and shipped me to another place for counselling who told me that they only gave counselling within school so they literally couldn’t give me counselling. Then they ignored me for about 1.5years. I kept bugging them so they gave me another mental health assessment and decided they’d do that every 3 months- no helping though. And then a few days before my 18th birthday rang my up to say I was being discharged. Absolutely shocking. Should be shut down.

If i could give no stars i would. I felt judged, persecuted and treated as if my mental health is my own fault. Was basically told ‘its all in my head’. No support. No help. If you can avoid, then please do so. They have only added to my poor mental health. Seek other professional help.

Don't want to help they diagnosed then send you off to struggle and when you go for help they send you off to other people and would rather wash there hands of you. They don't care about mental health they just push you away to become someone else's problem. Had a chat today and left it more depressed and alone then ever. If could give no stars I would
