I recently completed a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling at HCC and found the experience very positive. The tuition is excellent, the course provides a great mix of robust theory and hands-on practice, and I found the training staff to be responsive when extra help or guidance was required. The organisation is professional but still retains a 'family' feel. Training to be a counsellor is a demanding process and HCC offers an environment with a very good balance of challenge and support.

I completed the Certificate and then the Diploma course following many years working in mental health. The lectures, seminars, workshops and experiential groups were relevant, well organised and delivered. HCC's staff were supportive at all times. The camaraderie between students created a friendly and constructive atmosphere and many of us still remain in touch.

My experiences are historical -- no-one who was there then will be there now, I would imagine, since I received counselling from 1988 to 1990 (and was very pleased that it's still there). While the process didn't cure me (nothing ever will), I wouldn't be here, I think, without the care that was shown me.

I went for an initial consultation and was told it could take up to one month to be placed with a counsellor. After two months no one had even bothered to get back to me. Waste of time and money.
