So hit and miss it's unbelievable, basically down to who's serving. Some of the younger staff can't do basic maths or get orders correct despite writing it down. Multiple times in the evening orders are wrong. No issues whatsoever in the daytime with the more mature staff serving. Prices have rocketed also and are no longer worth the price. I go elsewhere nowadays after using this chip shop for about 25 years.

Any bad review is a one off. Been going here for 5 years and each time excellent cod and chips every time, not greasy, perfect batter and tasty potato chips plus always a friendly service. First class Parking: Great spot

I've used Highfield Chippy for the last 5 years but its definitely taking a turn for the worst. Portions sizes have decreased hugely with hardly any doner in the meal anymore. Terrible shame as the food used to be great, use another chippy if possible.

We ordered large haddock and chips via Just Eat. Food took ages to arrive and when we opened the packet, it was clear the fish was definitely NOT large. They'd sent a very small piece of cod. Hungry as we were after waiting so long, but the fish was rubbish. Soggy batter and it was barely tepid. Will not be using this chippy again, how on earth it won awards in the past is beyond me!

Ordered Donor meat in pitta with chips. There was a tiny amount of donor meat in the pitta. The pitta was stale. The prices are high but the portions are ridiculous. I have been going to this shop for a decade, it has really gone downhill. I have stopped going there now. It's a shame the owners are losing loyal customers.
