We have been coming to Higher Gills Farm for many years now, and love it. The accommodation is comfortable, the location great - wonderful scenery and lots to do - and Freda and Darrell very friendly hosts. Our visits here are regular and keenly anticipated. Well worth a visit. Nearby activities: Great for walking, with routes from energetic to leisurely within easy reach. Bolton Abbey is within an easy drive, and the glorious Yorkshire Dales and Forest of Bowland are nearby. Food & drinks: Good eating at several pubs and restaurants within easy driving distance.

One of the best views up the Ribble valley and into the Yorkshire Dales from the window. Great base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and the Trough of Bowland. The accommodation is comfortable with everything you will need for a break away. Great garden space for Children to run around in. It is on a working farm nestled up in the foothills of Pendle Hill so expect animals, noises and smells and the pure delight of the pastoral idyllic. A delightful escape. Loved our stay.

Excellent location for walks around the local area. On one walk we saw (during the day) a Tawny Owl, a Little Owl and a deer. Also from the accommodation the view is well, wow! Looking across to, Ingleborough, Pen-y-Ghent and more is spectacular, also has Pendle Hill as a back drop. Will be returning in the near future.

It's noisy and not very pet friendly even though they advertise as being pet friendly. We stayed for a week and although it was relatively comfortable you wouldn't want to use it as a quiet getaway. It's good for a base to explore the Pendle area.
