Nice enough pool, but ruined by some rude and unfriendly staff members. One in particular is a lifeguard (an older man with dark hair and Mediterranean accent) who summoned me to the side of the pool when I forgot to tie my hair up and barked at me to do so, citing it was "company policy". I politely said I didn't realise that and proceeded to tie my hair and state that I'll be more mindful of this in future. As I swam off, he yelled at me in a very rude and sarcastic manner "are you happy now?". No idea what he meant by that, but he must have some personal issues with rage, which he takes out on innocent customers. On a other occasion, another (female) staff member at reception got abrupt with me when I turned up at the pool (which had plenty of spaces available for the next few hours) and asked if I could pay then and there as the app wasn't working on my phone. She sternly told me that I should always book online, and not at the venue, despite me already telling her the app wasn't working on my phone. She then reluctantly agreed to accept my payment but warned me to book online in future. This I don't understand, seeing as other Better venues accept payments upon arrival at the pool, and I'm also a registered customer, not some random who's strolled in off the street. Even then, this is absolutely no way to ingratiate customers to your business. This isn't to sully all staff members who work at this branch, as the other ones I've dealt with are very friendly and helpful. But I'd recommend the managers at this venue teach the two above-mentioned staff members a thing or two about basic customer service skills and general civilised communication with other human beings.

Today I came to Highbury leisure centre to inquire about the membership as I haven’t been to the gym since the pandemic. I was met with a young man named Afrim who gave me all the information I required and more. I was shown the facilities by Katie ( I believe she was the duty manager ) who was also absolutely brilliant. Both made me feel very welcomed and put my worries at ease. Lovely team and site.

Today I experienced fantastic customer service from Afrim & Katie. Myself and a friend arrived to be greeted by smiles and a helpful attitude. My friend is a Gym newbie who’s on the road of increasing her fitness. Their knowledge of the services available within the Centre put her at ease and will contribute to her attendance.
