Had our first tandem paragliding experience with Pad. He is very nice, patient, relaxed, very experienced and professional. Although flyable weather can be a bit hard to come by / predict even with weather apps especially when you have only a few days stay in IoW. Pad is responsive and will inform prior if the weather permits flying. Safety is must and will not go thru if the wind is too strong. We were patient enough to wait for a flyable day and we had our chance during our last day in the isle. The wait was very much worth it as we enjoyed our time up in the air. The feeling is more relaxed than I expect it to be. The activity felt calm rather than extreme which is amazing! We also learned a thing or two about paragliding. Now we are considering to take the beginner course. Highly recommended!!!

Pad the chief instructor has oodles of patience, a gentle teaching style and a relaxed demeanour whilst not compromising at all on safety. It’s for good reason that the club on the Island is one of the most welcoming clubs in the U.K and Pad’s leadership style is a large part responsible for that. Pad will guide you through the Club Pilot from complete beginner. He remains a close friend to his students and supports far beyond the school environment and local vicinity of the Isle of Wight. His generosity extends far beyond what is expected and he’s been so helpful and generous in helping me acquire a near new wing at an incredible price (really!!). Also his paragliding school has lots of sites and they all point in different directions so if the wind speed is good there will be at least one site that’s facing the right way that he can take you too. Not the case in all paragliding schools in the U.K. Also he was a hanglider pilot before a paraglider pilot and was born and raised on the Island so he’s been in the game as long as any British pilot. Also all the other pilots on the hill on the Island and really friendly and welcoming characters which is nice as a beginner.
