Surveyor failed to state something very obvious in his report that is now going to cost thousands to rectify. Have complained to the company but so far I have not had acknowledgement of my complaint just more concern regarding my trustpilot review. Their responses have been abrupt and very unhelpful. Regarding the apparent fake review below (seems all the negative ones are fake. coincidence?) they do incentivise trustpilot reviews I have received the email. Complaint made to trustpilot so call me fake but it’s been reported.

Definitely avoid. They offer Amazon voucher in exchange for a good rating on TrustPilot, so don’t get conned by the good fake rating. I ordered homebuyer report and it took 2 weeks rather than 3-5 working days, and I had to chase them all the time. Plus, the report isn’t helpful at all, just some copy & paste thing. When it comes to some details, they just let you seek for other professional surveyors?!

Awful. They claim to be more expensive as they’re more comprehensive, which is why I decided to go with them. £1200 for a building survey which gave me advice to go and seek advice from professionals. Highlighted rising damp issues which didn’t even make his overall assessment. The report was actually unhelpful and unclear. Feels like the surveyor just wanted to do the minimum. Avoid.

Honestly we gained nothing but unnecessary worry from our Homebuyer Survey. Everything was a 3/Critical, which made it hard to figure out where our priorities should lie before exchanging contracts. "There is decking : this could be slippy - 3!" "There are glass panes the the bathroom door, which we don't think are safety glass: you could fall in to it and have an accident - 3!". Trying to label what is clearly a condensation issue as a "damp problem: but I have no idea of the cause: 3! And get someone who knows what they're doing to do a damp survey". The whole thing was a generalised list of all the other potential nuanced surveys we could get. Luckily we had people around us who actually know a thing or 2 about period properties, and assured us that most of it was hyperbole and not a deal breaker, as our surveyor suggested. On the up side, we have peace of mind that the house is not on the brink of collapse, which is all we really needed to know, but on the downside we got a whole lot of nothing else for the price of £417. We were advised to try to get our money back, but I simply do not have the time to waste on a dispute (much like the surveyor clearly didn't have the time to do a professional job of our survey). I've also sent 2 emails to 2 different people at Heyes for some clarity on a couple of points in the report, but since paying the fee, they have miraculously stopped replying to my emails. AVOID!

After having a minor hiccup trying to get a survey planned on my new home, I got in touch with Steph Tiley at Heyes. She was professional, super efficient and got it sorted right away despite difficulty in trying to reach the estate agent. Really friendly, professional and clearly knows her stuff. The report was ready and payment requested perfectly on time and the whole process was really quick, streamlined and pleasant. A big thank you to Neil who conducted the survey too. Highly recommend this company and Steph personally!
